Exactly!! I haven't seen any single building of this height that resembles this tower, beside the Twin Towers of course..

Do you have any proof of this conversation taking place? You're contending with numbers and diagrams submitted to the city for review, so that's quite a bit of contradictory evidence against the 19:1 ratio.

I can understand what you are trying to say, but I dont think it is the same to compare an externally "ugly" human being with an ugly building? Humans have something called a personality and goes beyond their external appearance. A building is just that... a building. It will stand there and will always be part of the skyline. It wont suddenly "leave" move away from your perspective and you cannot choose to ignore it when looking at the skyline.

By the way, all I did was to say that New York, in my opinion deserves better designed buildings. It is not that I consider this building the ugliest thing ever, it is that I consider it uninspiring and I wouldnt want New York's tallest building to be this one. Not when there are marvelous buildings out there with amazing design. This looks... "cheap" at least for me.
Yeah, I know what you mean..But hey, if every building would be architectural masterpiece and everyone would love it, than that would be perfect world..And we all know that such thing doesn't exist..So I sorry if this building is not good enough for some of you, I'm more than fine with it and I will enjoy watching it rise..

The only thing that would make this building any more ugly, would be if they added more height

On this graphic it is top out at 420 not 426

yes the data of 420m roof height is wrong and should be 426m, so the diagram is slightly off.

Now that the sun is lighting the right side you can see that the have set rebar and what looks like a footing pour on this side as well...little bit different structure as these appear to set directly in the bedrock. Clearly columns are being formed along north side to support the retail structure.

This building has a grid/frame type exoskeleton/facade that protrudes well a good distance away from the windows, correct? If yes, then will this be difficult to install the windows, more than a typical building/facade? Sounds like a unique engineering and construction challenge

I saw similar event like this on the right side yesterday...water shooting 20' in the air...must have some high pressure hoses...probably for drills they are using on the rock.

oh, you saw it live, not on cam?

on cam dirt may look like a water. But then again i haven't seen what Kanto had today so it might look different.

This was not 20 feet. It was at least 30 feet

I'll say it again...water high pressure water

No blasting going on...explosives truck is gone...blast blankets are gone...when they blast cam is off and people are vacated...and you see maybe plume of dust...this I have seen live and felt!

I go by at least twice a day...but the event I saw was on the cam and people were all around you can see the hose...

This does not deserve a title as the tallest in NYC let alone in the top 10 of the United States

Ohh why not it is simple math tallest building in the U.S. is willis tallest in N.Y. for know is 1wtc but soon it is 432 park avenue. 426 meters compare to 419 says it all

Is it a law that no building can go above 1wtc

Call me a troll, but this building has no iconic look to it. No there isn't a law but this building is 10x more unattractive than One WTC, don't even try to defend that.

Don't forget what has been told before in these threads.
You can't have a city full of unique building all standing out like Dubai in New York.
You need to have minimalist boring buildings, they only make the special buildings like Hearts Tower, One57, WTC complex stand out.
But of course you could say any building above let's say 300 meters should have a unique and outstanding design.
If you look at it that way this is a really bad design.
