It's outside of the perimeter of the tower, the foundation there doesn't have to be as massive as the foundations underneath the tower. When the foundations are complete you will see that it will have a level surface on whole building site.

That slab is the base of the adjoining six story retail building
Obviously you do not need as deep of footings compared to a 400+ meter tower.

They got a lot done yesterday in spite of all the rain
Ramp is really going away...look for a tower crane going in in about a week. those excavators are going to have to go soon

Will the core undergo modifications along its rise? Because to me the current core footprint is way too big. It takes up half of the building!

You mean the freshly poured section? I think that isn't part of the core, but more of a slab for the bottom underground floor. Though I could be wrong

Is it just me but did we yesterday have to huge excavators and one medium size one and today it is three huge ones?

Edit: Never mind, now I see the third huge one was hiding by the wall.

You are correct...That slab surrounds the core...the core will rise in square space inside

Somebody said that that outline would be the core footprint. Way to thick as far as I'm concerned. Thanks for the confirmation, I thought they had gone crazy

They are using a better way to pour the concrete today, instead of using 2 diggers they just use 1 that gets the concrete from a truck from 56th Street.

Well it is a box. I think there are many boxes which are very nice, and the cladding on this particular box will I think be pretty nice, but despite that it is boring overall.

The Trump World Tower is also a thin tall box tower on a prominent place, and that one is also adored. So why is this one an ugly box?

The Trump tower is slender, black, and only 800 feet.

i just saw this project and I must comment.. it really sucks. It's waaayyy too thin for its height, and it's faįade is too simple for such a tall building. It's not ugly, it's just tasteless. If it was half the height it'd be OK, but for a 426 m tall building, it's disapointing. NYC deserves something much better than this.
