ESB will forever be the king.

And while it's thin, any residential skyscraper is thinner than bulky office towers with big floorplates. What I wonder is how this supertall tests the limits of building so tall on such a small footprint.

Ok, yeah I didn't even think of that. But it obviously won't be this building.

This box shaped building needs some type of grand dome or tower or some type of intersting feature on the top part to make it more memorible in that it kind of looks a little boring right now. Personally I would have built some thing on top of it.

Also as for the old hotel that got knocked down on this site I would have maybe gutted the back end of it to put these beast in but try to leave as much as the front and sides of the old building as possible to make it into a conversation peace and to keep the old character of the site.

that sounds very difficult to do ^. also wait for a release of the actual design. that one feature robert mentioned could make this a building that is at least bearable.

Which style?

440 Park Avenue, the counterproposal, now with textures! I'm pleased with your kind reception, expect some closeups tommorow.

440 Park stands proudly above Midtown's other high-rises, but does not dominate the skyline.

Simfan, your work is amazing. I really like your design. I love the current design for 440 but I'd also love to see your building on some other spot in NYC

Btw, if anybody complains that 440 is too thin, he should take a look at Dubai's residential towers

It would be a good asset to the skyline for the fact that it doesn't dominate nyc

The design is perfect as it is but the cladding should look differently. A cladding like the WTC towers have would look awesome on this building

It needs a crown- it a flat roof ends too abruptly and draws too much attention to it.

I'm loving the height, but I wish there was something more to it that made people look at it though.

Do you like flat roofs, skinny buildings, and tall roof height? Sorry if you may have mentioned this before..

I love flat roofs and tall roof height but I don't like skinny towers. I love massive towers however in this case they apparently don't have enough space for a massive tower so the current design is the best we can get at that spot
