Technically this tower is already at street level, because 4 perimeter columns are already up to to street level.

And even if I don't know the schedule I can safely say that the whole tower won't be at street level at the end of this month. The foundation works are still not done and won't be completed before the end of this week. And the underground floors usually take a bit longer then the overground floors.

A better question is if we will see the tower grow from the current level before the end of the month.

But it's still going very fast, no doubt about that.

I made a new twitter account @432PA It seems the "official" one isn't been used. I watching the cam's a lot an tough why not tweed about it. Hope I get a lot of followers interested in this build. It's moving so fast, and hope the tweeds will help see how much is done.

The excavators are really running out of space as the foundation is built. I'm wondering how much longer they can stay down there. It will also be interesting to see if they can make it up what is left of the ramp or if they have to be lifted out :-)

Yeah, I was wondering why haven't they moved that piece of dirt left there.

Please don't start arguments like this. It is downright rude to make such a combative proclamation on an international forum.

Now back on topic...

How many tower cranes will be used on this building? With it being so narrow, I wouldn't be surprised to see just one.

Wow! Check the Webcam! In the past 24 hours it appears more concrete has been poured and 3 more shafts have appeared on the South side.

They are using the regular bucket on the excavator to pour concrete. I've never seen that before. It's amazing how they improvise.

The wood is the form for the concrete that will make up the base of the core.

To keep it in the right shape. The concrete will try to push the wood apart.

One.

Concrete buildings require cure time in between jumps and their materials are considerably lighter.

We can expect the big pour for the core today.

And it won't be with the bucket since there's a mobile concrete pump with a big arm on 56th street.

Today, the concrete pump arrived on site, and concrete pumping into the core forms is proceeding. For the past week, workers installed rebar and completed the formwork in preparation for today's pour. Yesterday, the Hitachi 850 excavator (one of the two excavators that have done hammering and excavating on this job), broke and dug rock for two more perimeter tower pads. Those two pads were formed and poured. Today the excavator hammered and dug rock for two more pads that will likely be formed and possibly poured today. These four pads will be driilled in preparation for installation of tendons, which were delivered yesterday.

Further update:

The two last pads for the tower footings are getting ready to be formed. Workers are cleaning the dug area, and will form the final tower pads. Workers are now marking the locations with red paint the drill holes in the first three tower pads that were poured. It is expected that if the last two pads are poured today, the drill will begin the drilling operation, perhaps tomorrow, starting with the first pad poured.

Concrete pouring continues on the core.
