No, but I'm watching right now, so go again, I would say.

However, this could just be speculation, but it would seem to be a likely location. Time will tell.
How far away are we from having a tower crane placed at the site?

isdmd10,

I would think it might not be too far off, however there is still work left to do on the foundation. As can be seen, there are still sections of slab to complete, along with footings, and other miscellaneous items. But here again, I do not know the construction schedule, or how the construction manager has planned things. All I can go with right now is what I see. Perhaps permits could be checked to see if a crane permits has been filed, in which a number of applications have to filed, which includes DOB (Dept of Buildings),for crane inspection and certification before placement, crane placement plans, dates of proposed erection, erection procedure, etc; NYDOT (Dept. of Transportation) for proposed sidewalk and street closure for crane erection, etc.

The upshot of all this is that I'm not sure when crane appearance will be.

The only crane they have approval for so far is a mobile crane.

If I am observing correctly, the hydraulic hammer and a bucket are standing by for breaking and excavating rock today, for the area that was outlined in red paint late afternoon yesterday. Also late yesterday afternoon, the excavators created a shorter (but steeper) ramp, which the medium-sized short-tailswing excavator ascended (with help) to the street level.

comet the cat,

Nice video!!

I found out yesteday that my uncle works for this tower as a concrete pourer.
From his mouth he said

Be up to street level at the end of this year, if not the beginning of next.

Update:

Work moves ahead on the preparations for slab on grade concrete. Waterproofing is being installed, with a crushed stone layer being placed on top. The crushed stone is being unloaded from a dump truck at the jobsite entrance via the medium sized excavator to skips which are then transferred via the triple-boom excavator to the placement area. Currently, crushed stone is being placed on the east side of the future slab.

This is really coming together quickly. Maybe the workers work faster because they know a webcam is watching

I hope we see that concrete poured this week.

Those excavators can't stay too much longer - soon there will be no room for them.

I am sure that the concrete won't be poured tomorrow. After the crushed stone layer is done for that area, plus the additional layer of membrane that goes on top (a white layer), the slab reinforcement must be placed. Also, any additional underslab piping may have to be placed, and a pour stop still has to be installed on the east and south boundaries of this slab section. Next week is more realistic.

Just in:

The large Hitachi excavator on 56th Street now has its hammer installed. Hammering will begin on the next 56th Street footing to be constructed.

Comparing it 1WTC is pointless, that was a much bigger and far more complex site then this one.

As for this site right now, if you haven't looked at the webcam for 1 day you will be surprised how clean the site has become.

Summary:

Today's activities were mainly focused on slab on grade preparation. waterproofing and crushed stone was placed. I predict that tomorrow's activity will be mainly more of the same, with concrete operations perhaps next week.
