Looks like the tripple boom was famous today! With it in the street I will defiantly take a trip back. Marcatio, did the guy in the blue hardhat and green lend lease vest talk to you? He is a very friendly person, he told me as he walked to lunch if I wanted I could ask the other flagmen to go up to the gate to get pics in the hole but I to was off to lunch as well.

Guess I will check the cam Monday morning to see where the tripple boom sits, it will be quite the view seeing it in the street!

The ramp continues to disappear. I know this has been said many times before, but I can smell a tower crane being close

Maybe they plan larger openings in the underground portion of the tower than the 7 columns would allow for

That's the most plausible reason since it would have been structurally much more logical to have 7 columns all the way down to the foundations just like on the other 3 sides of the tower.

Don't forget there will be car garage down there. Cars need space.

They have forgotten to include 432 Park in the under construction list. And I also think they should put on hold projects into a separate list

Well if it's this "under the radar", then it will be even more interesting to see the public react. A building of this height won't go long without recognition I'm hoping.

I went by the site today, Sunday, and took some pictures. All I can say is they have the place sealed up and really hard to get any shots of. They even put rages over door lock holes to prevent pictures from being taken through them!!

I did my best and here it goes:

I had to shoot through every little crack I could find.

Its funny, but from the cam I always thought the areas with the rebar looked like protrusions. But in the pictures they look like depressions!?!?!

The work site looks very "clean" and it is scaring me. Could they be preparing to just leave it for a while? I would think if they were about to start building this up there would be wood, rebar and all sorts of other materials laying around. Any thoughts on that?

Don't panic, the site is a very small footprint meaning little or no materials can be stored on site. Most materials will just be brought in when they are needed.

The days of 'messy' construction sites are a thing of the past

I think that one57 looked exactly as clean as this one on that stage of construction. I suppose it could have been due to the contractor change. Foundation contractor is cleaning the site for the structure contractor to go in and that, in fact, can mean some delay (but nothing related to putting project on hold of course). But I have no idea if such exchange is taking place right now. If anybody knows better feel free to enlighten us

Btw Great update 600West218

Yeah, awesome photos Dan! I agree this might be due to contractor change. This one has to dig and clean the site, other will build the tower and bring everything they need.

yep, when you turn over a site, the accepting contractor should required the site to be clear of debris and equipment.

And the new week starts with the arrival of the blue mobile concrete pump, ready for another pour on the 56th street side.

The excavator is also continuing with the big dig to remove all the dirt on the Park Av. side.
