Let's be completly honoust: what can possible convince rich people to buy a penthouse of $90 million in comparison to all the things they own allready? How much do you want of the same thing? On every continent...?

Because there is a lot of construction going on: (not today?)

Looking like a productive day on site today, still more dirt coming out and stone going in, lots of rebar being layed possibly for a pour on Friday?

You are right, those are just things they expect. More often it's simply the prestige factor of owning a spot on the tallest residential building in North America...in NYC, over looking Central Park. Those features alone will bring the 90 million dollar buyers.

I would imagine so, if not tomorrow. If has not typically taken them very long once the rebar goes down to concrete.

Also it's hard to tell but is the digging done now? Looking at the Park Ave cam it looks pretty clean...that said there is one empty truck waiting so potential a few more scoops.

Not sure really but there cant be much more to excavate. I reakon the triple boom will stay put untill they are finished casting the slab as there is no way of getting materials in and out i may be wrong tho. I can't find any evidance a crane is ariving any time soon.

That would be my guess too - that they will have left over materials that they will need to get out once all hte concrete pouring is done.

Note they are slower with things now because they appear to have significantly fewer men on site.

I don't see why they can't finish this week but I've already called this incorrectly two times before so I am keeping my mouth shut.

Yer I thought there were fewer men but put that down to people making the holiday weekend longer. I am going to guess at a finish next friday for all the concrete works.

I feel my distraction, but recently I realize, is a few feet taller than the twin towers! Really impressive height!

they're working on the foundation...which is almost completed now.
and the Foundation is part of the tower, so why do you think it should be PREP?

it can't be clearer that this tower i U/C...

Looks back through this thread a few pages. it has been outlined a few times by posters. It is a small perfect square that lines up with the small concrete blocks with rebar.

BTW, maybe the excavating is done. A dump truck just dumped a whole bunch of crushed rock to maybe finish the base concrete for the whole area ?

You are correct the whole site was excavated down to bedrock then steel tension bars drilled into the rock. The tension bars are then connected to the reinforcement of the tower columns.

I have seen quite a few trucks dump crushed stone today then get filled with dirt on their way out of site. So if the one you saw just drove out we might be done with the dirt finally.
