Maybe there were problems with some part of the equipment, for example the tower crane that is to sit there? I remember there was quite an inspection spree for some days on 4WTC when the beam fell off the crane

Sometimes.

In the USA, in California, projects take about 42 months beginning to end.

Once the drawings are finalised, they go out to firms to place bids on the project. Bids are accepted, winners chosen, contracts signed and start dates issued.

By this time the draw of money will have been taken and placed into an escrow account for the costs of the project. This is required by those who bid because if things go badly, they want assets or cash to be there to pay their workers. No pay on Friday, no one shows up on Monday.

There are multiple funding rounds of loans and sometimes angel private financing. Mostly this is from large banks on credit with cash from investors and the constructing firm added to the mix although many firms that were leveraged up with no money in the game went under abruptly in 2008 and 2009.

Many projects in Socal were simply stopped. A guard shack was built, the site was secured, the workers were sent home and everything stopped cold. Exposed cured and crystallised concrete can sit for years if secured properly.

If the money is in escrow the CFO will have it invested to earn interest during the float between the bank and your paycheck. So they won't lose money if the 2.5% loan earns 4.35% for 3 or 6 months.

Yes, I can barely see it but there is a crane there. Doesn't look all that big though.

Definitely a bunch of guys in bright yellow vests walking around. Something could be happening.

On the 57St cam they appear to be taking the hoarding down and on park cam they are replacing it where the excavator was parked.

There do seem to be about 10 guys hanging around that spot on 56th street.

Definitely preparing for something and a good sign I think.

BTW, they also removed what some said was the template for the crane.

The template has been like that for about a week now. I just cant figre out if they are going to put a crane up or do a site setup with more cabins.

Just walked by and they were removing fencing on 56 near the parking garage...small crane at the curb...big stack of new lumber...about 8 engineer looking hardhats and half a dozen laborers...something is happening...fencing at corner is down but looks like they are prepping to rebuild it...I think they are prepping to start bringing in new equipment now through the opening next to the parking garage mid block on 56...still do not see any crane on the DOT schedule...small crane is not visible on any of the cameras just in their blind spot but you can see the fence opening in the upper right corner from the 57 street camera...crane is just to the left of opening out of camera view

After what seemed like a long time since the foundation had been completed, activity resumes. (Actually the final slab section was poured on 9-11-12, eleven days ago) The big Hitachi ZX800 has departed today, marking the end of Mayrich Construction Company's role in the construction process. Considering the scope of work required for demolition, excavating, pouring concrete for walls, footings and slabs, the work has progressed at a brisk pace. A rough-terrain hydraulic crane arrived today (I believe owned by Bay Crane) and takes up a position on E.56 St, crab-steering into position on the timber planking set yesterday.

The crane has just been set up in the gap in the hoarding now. The crane looks small but i think is still capable of erecting the tower crane as its very close to where the crane is to go. But am probably wrong.

I don't believe this crane is able to put tower crane together. I saw before this crane assembling the crane which actually assembled tower crane. Tower pieces yes, but cabin and arm with everything, I don't think so.

Expect something like this for the job: what we seen now is the one on the left. What we need is that one on the right. Tower crane will probably be similar to One57 tower crane.

Thinking about it the crane for One57 didn't get erected until they were at street level so the same might happen here. This crane might just be for lifting materials into the foundation.

Maybe this is to put in lighter components. To have a bigger crane they would probably have to close the street for a day - something for a Saturday or Sunday. We'll know soon enough.

Anyways, action in continueing!!!!!!!!!!!!

EDIT: they are lifting in container boxes.
