On CUL's diagram over in the tallest residential thread, it is updated with 432. It seems insanely slim though, even moreso than the nice Dubai towers. Seems at least 16:1... Was there any previous mention of the height to width ratio? I recall 10:1 being what was previously considered the limit but obviously these resi towers being built with both steel and concrete can afford to be beyond that ratio.

Would be nice if this gets a brief time in the light as the diagram also shows World 1 just past 432's status of construction.

A minor mishap onsite. Forklift just tipped over, probably due overloading. Already back in action.

For those that don't have an eye for cranes- The favco just unloaded a Manitowoc 4100W Crawler Crane inner weight and hook block. And looking at the DOT Permits the street is closed this weekend coming up. Sure will be some heavy lifting at this site in the months to come

Load testing now, even using the hook block which seems odd to bring the hook block just for the test. Guess we will have to see if a crawler does go down there

i doubt you could even get a CD on a 4100 nowadays. Especially after Yonkers mishap earlier this year.

Where the heck they going to fit a crawler crane on the site? I reakon the crane is about ready to be used as they were cleaning it just before they lifted the weights of the trailer. Also as the tower gets higher do you think we will get a new camera angle so we can watch the construction progress, maybe put a camera on the crane as it will always be taller.

So, only the height and overall shape is definite? So the texture/ cladding design hasn't been released?

Reason I said crawler is because I remember the mention of up to 100 ton plates for this site. Plus the hook block brought in, I could see counter weights for a load test but the hook makes me wonder.

As per a quote from the developer in a WSJ article that I posted around two weeks ago, the height and the design could change. By "design," however, it's not clear what he meant (e.g., the facade material or the shape).

At this point the only thing we know for sure is the size of the core...height who knows but I am thinking it will end up at 432m like they have been saying all along.

Today the smaller crane is busy with loading stuff onto a truck. And on the big crane there is a guy who is checking the mechanical parts.
