It doesn't surprise me. NY has had several crane collapses and buildings inspectors caught taking buried. People have died in crane accidents so I would expect the crane check out is extra thorough.

Still out of town. Screen shots anyone

This 95 number could be fake.
It probably skips some floors.
It just sounds better as a residential to say you live on the 95th floor than the 80th.
One57 is the same deal, listed as 90 floors but only has about 75 in reality

that was the rendering i was waiting for. the glass will be of good quality and the lit up open air spaces look awesome. Also yeah, the 95 might not be true.

They are probably still getting the crane certified...regulations have gotten very strict here in NY because of a number of crane accidents in recent years..anyone else add to this.
Maybe it is good to go now as they just loaded up the big counterweight they had for testing..

But this week they have actually been loading in a lot of material...many truckloads a day mostly of rebar, lumber shoring and plywood for forms using the smaller crane

Truck just pulled away with counterweight...big crane is moving big bundle of rebar...looks like it is good to go!!!

The crane is lifting stuff at the moment, so it should be allright now.

Yup...another big truck load of steel being unloaded now...thye must be a bit behind for them to be working this late...no other work going on just loading in steel...so it does seem that it took longer than expected to get the crane good to go...remember Monday is a holiday here so this is all set up for Tuesday...I bet the site will be full of workers come Tuesday AM...

looks like big prefab column steel for tower perimeter columns

They have moved the containers from the left side to the right side, maybe that means that they are going to build on the left side.

Columbus day is normally just for government employees and schools and banks. Construction workers would get it too?

Like others have said they will be making sure evverything is spot on safety wise and also let's not forget this crane will be on site for a good few years and the top of the boom will probably end up being in the area of 450meters tall. any news on why the street is closed this weekend?

Looks too tall, maybe like 550-600m there. Look at the adjacent buildings..
