Just kinda cool because I never knew what existed there be4 this.
On the first page post 4 you can see the old Drake Hotel.

Noticed that the 432 render had the citi tower removed. Like it doesn't stand out otherwise.

All these new slender supertalls will rise high above the current buildings.

Went by the site today. They have all the fencing so closed off it is practically impossible to get any decent pictures. This is what I got with my iPhone:

Sorry, but that is all that was possible. The only decent shots were from 57th street and even that hole is only about 1nch around with a chain through it!!

We are going to have to wait for this to be above ground to do any decent photography.

The open floors with the mechanicals "blend in" in the renderings. I assume that they'll be more prominent in person.

At 6:45 AM they were already at work, even without much light. They really need the shift to daylight savings time. Should be coming soon.

Nice onsite shots, you see how big the rebar actually is.

What about those "free spaces" in between? Is it some sort of balconies, terraces?

Will there be balconies, an observation deck or a rooftop terrace at all?

Imagining the rates they're asking for those fancy apartments I'd demand a balcony or something to go outside and enjoy some fresh air and views.

Maybe the building code prohibits balconies above a certain level? I don't know if it does but I would think it should. Imagine someone has something on the balcony and the wind blows it off. Even a tiny object becomes lethal at 1,000 feet or more.
