Not saying all of wtc is crap just think that 432 park avenue, tour verre, beekman, and recently 425 park avenue are all imo much more interesting architecture than any of the glass mirror towers of wtc complex. But that's just my subjective point of view and I'm not going to force it on anybody.

anyway eot on my part.

In sorry if my post sounds hostile. Everybody is entitled to their own opinion and yours just so happens to be different than mine. I suppose I should have read the entire post SLOWLY before posting

I have to say that one thing that impresses me while watching the webcam is how clean they seem to be keeping the work site. It seems highly organized and clean, much more so than when the foundation work was being done. Anyone else notice that?

^Absolutely awesome shot! Thank you for sharing.

BTW, this does sort of confirm my previous comment - look how clean that site looks!!

Edit: Question: so if those black things are forms then they will all have to be removed and stored elsewhere and lots of rebar put down before any floor slabs can be poured correct? If so, it looks like we are a long ways away from any major pours.

On the west side over by where they poured columns yesterday I think I finally see floor slab rebar being laid out!!!!! Looks like it could be by 57th street too but can't tell for sure.

325ccr,

Thank you for posting the detailed photo. Very clean shot, highlighting the formwork and rebar placed to date.

600West218,

The site indeed looks clean, as you have observed. It's a safety thing: good housekeeping makes for a safe job. About the forms, after the concrete is poured and cured, the forms will be stripped and stored while another set is used to form the next higher floor. To speed construction, it makes sense to begin stripping forms at the same time forming the next floor.

Love the picture posted by 325ccr. Shows well how thick the rebars used in columns are. Probably like arm thick. No wonder it's easier for them to assemble the columns on ground before lifting them in place.

marcatio, what number bar are they using in the core and/or the columns. 14?

(for others, rebar is measured in 1/8", so #14 would be 14/8")
