Yup, you're right. The whole first half of next week work on construction sites will be impossible

Btw, they now moved the pouring to the down right interior of the tower floor slab

Yeah, baby, I suspected they would do this today. Thank you hurricane Sandy!!!

However, this is very annoying for me personally. I was planning on painting my apartment today, moved all my furniture, have a total mess, and am now stuck watching this !!!!!

Edit: Hah, and now they are moving the Porta-Potties to higher ground. :-)

Someone said they are forms for the concrete when I asked about that before. But it seems strange to me. Why are they only sporadically placed?

So I am not sure that they are for.

Now they're pouring the slab for both, the bottom part of the tower and for the retail area below it (on the 56 cam)

They are not sheets but dark form boards, there's nothing special or different about them then the lighter colored form boards. They are not placed at specific spots, it's just random.

Wow lot's of progess on the cam today, looks like they poured concrete on the entire site,, lots of workers working as well, on Saturday of all days...Exactly how much farther up will they need to go to be at street level?? The camera shows it still underneath, but how far, hard to tell. Will it be street level, by the New Year?

They began building the basement structure approximately on september 24th. Today, october 27th, one month later, they have already built 2 floors of the basement. Since there are two more, it is easy to estimate that it will take them one more month. So by the begining of december they should be building the ground-floor slab. So yes, I think it would be street level by the end of the year.

Maybe then, the pace would slow down a bit, since they have to do the transition to the main vertical structure. That could have some special features that may slow the pace of construction, such as the ground floor ceiling could be higher, maybe twice the standard floor. Also in the north face, they only have 2 intermediate columns, that I think they will convert, above the ground level, in the five intermediate columns as in the other three facades, that means that they have to do a strong structural element of transition.

But when they start the main, standard structure of the tower, I think they would go very fast, making at least one floor per week. I guess it could happen by the end of january.

Edit. Now that I see this picture again, there is only one clear spot for the crane, which is were it was finally placed. It doesn't seem to be another place to put up another crane, except the tower itself. Maybe they only need one, since the floors are relatively small, and they don't have to lift so many pieces of steel for the structure, only rebar. The concrete should be pumped by a concrete pump.

Awesome, Would love to see this structure Just climb Very Fast,, Hopefully this would keep a lot of our interests, for awhile.. That's probably why they installed these cameras, knowing this thing will CLIMB!!!

Most probably many people in New York don't know that there will be such high building in this place. How do you think? I am greeting from Poland
