Cladding????? Shouldnt they build walls, ceilings and floors 1st? You wanna see claddding it'll probably happen here, quite soon, if you saw the users, Eric Offereins and Germantower's 3 month time lapse,, it's definitley moving quick,,as for cladding,, quite certain it will clad much quicker than the building, or both bldgs some 50 blocks away..

I'd say 2 floors a week but that is only my guess.

They already filled the core with concrete again. This is such an unbelevable pace that they are reaching at. So next the next floor will be poored next week? Probably they will reach 2 floors a week when the construction reaches the repeatable floorplans.

Once they get fully off street level I bet we will see at least 2 floors a week. Construction pace as seen already will be incredibly fast.

To bad these photos are mostly posted more than a month after they were taken.
And couldn't hurt to add some colour, sometimes black and white images like these are nice, but this is an overload.

It's fascinating to see the construction of such an amazing supertall from close up

Today, forms are being stripped from the core walls poured recently. On the 57St cam, workers are seen atop the roof of the 4 story building fronting 57St on the west side of the construction site. New York City Construction Code mandates protection of adjacent structures with a heavy-duty protective structure, when new construction is higher than the existing structures.

The first level above the bottom slab has been quickly formed, and rebar placed. It had been speculated that a second crane might be placed here, as foundation work, a base and presumably, a tower section had been placed within the opening at the northeast corner. Workers were here placing rebar, the opening remaining where the tower section has been covered with membrane, and it appears that this area will be concreted soon, perhaps tomorrow (assuming overtime work is scheduled).

Blue items were unloaded, and placed on the work area where previously the gang forms for the core walls were erected. I am guessing, that these may be for the vehicle hoists for the loading area underground, to be lowered into the large opening to the west, as seen on the 56St. cam. Being that the vehicle service elevator need only travel from street level to bottom slab, it most likely would be a hydraulic elevator.

I enjoy the black and white pictures provided by Mr. Richard Berenholz. They show details that cannot be readily seen by the cams, for example, the screw couplings on the major column reinforcement, the high chairs under the mat bars for the slabs, the formwork, etc, etc.

I guessed wrong about the concrete being poured tomorrow, as the concrete operation has commenced, using the crane and concrete bucket, on the northeast area I mentioned in my previous post.

Right now the site is empty. Is that normal? I mean, they used to work on Saturdays in the last weeks

They are exhausted after all the hard work, give them a break. They yearn for vacation.

Pretty dense armature for the core. Amazing quality.
