Love the color. Looks like the top half of a refrigerator from the '90s.

I assume the reason for the concrete being so strong is to support such a high center of gravity in comparison to such a small base. I doubt we're defending against underground mines in this case.

Indeed.
Say what you (not you specifically yankeesfan) will about the design, but it's certainly going to be eye catching. I personally think it'll turn out stunning.

White fritted glass panels ala Toronto's First Canadian Place would have looked rad here. But this is good too.

It's awesome to see that they are using such high quality materials for this building. New supertalls in NYC are truly the pinnacle of quality.

No workers on site today. I suppose they'll be back Wednesday or Thursday.

They'll have to. The forces on this building must be incredible.

Hey, there actually is one guy on the site in a yellow hard hat and red jacket by either some concrete blocks or large crates on the 56th Street side. I wonder how he'll do any thing alone...

Two or three more workers have shown up and they seem to be gathering by the cubes and carrying some lightweight supplies back and forth across the sight. I don't remember seeing these blocks before. Does anyone know what they could be doing currently?

Well, this is what will be used for the perimeter structure. If there will be some sort of additional cladding concrete to cover the main structure I think it won't be as strong as this load bearing concrete, but then again, that is just my guess.

Never mind for the renders - Have seen them elsewhere. Anyway the concrete is exactly as I imagined it will be - pure white. I have no doubt it will look great from the distance

plain white with large square windows. Quite basic, but I agree it looks promising.

Nice to see some concrete samples show up. I had thought it'd look fantastic and well, I'm quite pleased . A whole tower of this stuff will practically glow on the sides in the sun. Thanks for sharing.
