Lots of prep work around that new core device. Hopefully this thing really starts shooting up in the next few weeks.

An odd question that maybe has been asked before, but is there a specific reason that white tower crane's base is rotated slightly in relation to the axes of the building?

That always puzzled me as well, but it seems like no one knows the reason of that.

That will depend on who buys a apartment there.

I expect the core to go ahead of the perimeter by some floors. From what I know this building should use the "core first" model of construction

I think that too, the core has to climb. Thay can't build new floors anywhere else since the site looks more like a maze.

Yea they had a few days of deliveries and the site is pretty much max capacity now. I would expect to see some progress over the next week or so with all them materials!

Watching the 57th street cam, I think they will put similar climbing system on the walls of the building as it's on the core.

judging from the last pic, unless they demolish the whole street i can hardly see how this hipertech tower could fit in any way in this neighborhood

It's the mix of cultures aswell as buildings that make cities like NY so interesting.

What is odd is how the 57th street side seems way ahead of the 56th street side. They've had at least two floors in place on the outer part of the 57th street side which have yet to go in on the 56th side.

I wonder why? What is holding up the south side?

This neighborhood is chock full of huge buildings, those lowrise structures you see are the exception not the norm.

Maybe the 56 side has the main hall of the lobby floor because from a diagram I saw here posted a few weeks ago the lobby will be a double floor so I guess the 57 part of it will be two normal floors and the other part of it will be a double height hall

They installed what looks like the white-concrete cladding people have been talking about and it seems that it will be at the same time the formwork for the columns and beams, so the cladding in this tower will be installed before the columns are done instead of after, as it is usually done, interesting.

You can see that in the 56th st camera

You are right, but those frames are quite low aren't they? I mean, that's the ground floor.
They are pouring the core right now.

Are you referring to the frames of the beams?

The ground floor lobby will be double height, but it still has a intermediate beam as in the other floors, forming the squares of the facade. But in the ground floor there will be only the beam, without the first floor plate. (similar as in the 57th st. side, where they are building a beam without the floor plate) That's why it looks low, but the lobby will indeed be double height.

Are you sure this is cladding? It looked like it was just framework or a mold when it was on the floor the other day. It would be unusual to use cladding now, its bound to get damaged.
