(similar as in the 57th st. side, where they are building a beam without the floor plate) That's why it looks low, but the lobby will indeed be double height.
Thanks,I knew it had to be something like that.

Here is the diagram I was talking about. It shows that the lobby will be double height. I'm puzzled because according to this there should be no slab at all over there. just an empty lobby and the building is still too low for the core to be at floor 2. This is weird

But it can be the case that the lobby is double hight but only between the collums there can be a beam as we see on the cam.

No, I am not definitely sure.

But for what I've seen in the cam, plus what people have been talking it looks like it could be.

In the cam (I haven't seen it personally since I am pretty far from NY) doesn't look like the conventional framework they've been using, for the thickness and the color of the elements they look like that white-concrete panels some people have been talking about and showed some pictures.

It is not very conventional, but it is not a bad idea to use them as framework and cladding all in one. And since it is concrete it is more unlikely to get damaged.

But what I say is not a statement, just I guess, I can be wrong.

I think they are pouring the upper half of the double height lobby now. Before they installed the climbing system, they only had poured the lower half of the lobby ( the equivalent to a conventional floor)

By the way I didn't notice that before, but in the fifth floor, on the 57th st. side, there is a very high beam that ocupies the entire height of the floor. That must be the transition between the four and seven columns scheme.

There's a newish lowrise building on Bond Street with a concrete facade and very large windows (though they're not as large as 432's and they're not evenly sized). It looks nice and is probably some indication as to what this will look like.

Thought that too, though it does look like a slab and not just forms for a concrete beam. And a steel beam wouldn't need any kind of forms, so that seems even more unlikely. I think CCs77 is right, though I'm no pro in this stuff so I'm definitely not sure, just guessing

there are so many bland skyscrapers from that perspective I cant even count them all lol. It will fit in fine, specially with all of the tall and skinny towers which will be rising to the south plus 225 west 57th street and One 57.

Begs the question...are rectangles bland?

I think the reason people think rectangles are bland is because they're just too perfect.
You can't go wrong with a rectangle, which is why maybe people hate them so unfairly.

I was hoping the building got a little wider. But from your reaction that isn't the case.

you do realize how annoying it is just because you use the wrong word to have someone have to correct you as if you didnt know what i meant?

if you really wanted to know that the building got wider, instead of replying to my post maybe you should have replied to one talking about the width of the building dont you think
