Horrible, as if the construction stopped halfway up.

i think the spires look kinda cool, because the building is so slim it reminds me a bit of Morpheus (map in UT99)

The building could be considered a modern take on brutalist styles given its bare concrete facade?

It's not going to be bare concrete; there will be cladding of some sort.

I believe that it will be very smooth bare concrete. 25 Bond St, which is very elegant, has a similar exterior.

First post

Being a bus driver, I pass this building every day on Madison Ave, then hike a left on 57th past One57 and soon to be 225 w57st.
The thing that strikes me about this building is its apparently completely flat roof with NO mechanical stuff in sight in the renders.
It has to have at least aircraft beacons correct?

So this small differences means that it is not brutalist, as that style uses a different style of concrete?

And if CTBUH does recognize it as a spire, Durst will have handed envelopes over envelopes of cash to them.. This is an antenae, just look at it!

Does material used determine architecture style? Of course not. If they would used white matte aluminium panels that would instantly make it not brutalist in your mind (Even though it would look almost the same)? Brutalist is represented by "heavy", fortress-like structures often with little windows. As it happens many of such structures were build with concrete but that doesn't mean any concrete structure can instantly be regarded to as brutalist. 432 is "light", slender design with huge windows providing lots of light inside. There is definitely nothing brutal about it

New crast sections on site, looks like the crane is going to jump again.

Edit: looking at it the mast section on the truck might be for a new crane.

i think there is a hole for a second crane, is there not?

if so, given the simplicity of the design, this thing will fly and will probably only be limited by the time required by the concrete setting
