Thanks for the information on teh beams :-)

They made really good progress today and worked long hours. Hopefully they are soon approaching the point where this thing will be going up a floor or more every week.

Interestingly, so far the 57th street crane seems to be working on the main tower.

Great that its over street level already, how long is it estimated until it tops out? Assuming there is no problems on the way?
Sorry for my bad english, not native language as you might understand

So doesn't it look like they are pouring the south side perimeter columns today? the first exposed columns? If so this should be the first pour of the white concrete as predicted earlier. Can't wait to see those forms come off!

Here is the 56th street side, with the top of the columns visible:

Now the 57th street cam is doing a nice closeup.

One curious thing is you don't see any plans around or workers stopping to looking at plans.

Hope they have some way of knowing exaxtly what the specs and dimensions are and don't screw things up too often :-)

According to the renders these columns will most definitely be exposed.
I have seen engineers and builders looking at plans many times...hard to see in the cams...but many times from the street

At its current pace, it should be at:
36 Floors by January 2014
72 Floors by January 2015
and topped out by Summer 2015

It'll be finished much more quickly than that. It should be finished around June of next year, give or take a few months..

It's expected to go 1 floor every 4-5 days once we get to the main frame of the tower in a month or so. Multiply 4.5 by 89 floors and you'll get 400.5 days. That means it should top out in 1 year and 1 month, give or take a few weeks or so.

I wonder if the mechanical floors will stretch that time-frame out a bit? It seems like usually mechanical floors take a week or two to construct, as opposed to 4-5 days for normal floors.

Thats impressive! In my city it takes them the same time to build a 30 floor building. And considering the logistics problems there must be i NY to its quite an achievement. When its done i'll probably have to come visit.

If it was to take 5 days per floor day and, say, 10 days per mechanical (with 5 or so mechanical), it'd still only take 1 year and 4 months. Oh, and I accidentally put 1 year and 3 months at 4.5 floors per day. That should have been 1 year and 1 month. At 4 per day, it'd be just 1 year to top out, and maybe a week or two including mechanical lag. This could be topped out before spring of 2014!

That's one advantage of a building with a square floor plan. Plus, the Port Authority can't cause delays here like at the WTC.

Yeah but it isn't just the WTC 1 that has had delays. One57 had some really significant delays, like months when not a single new floor went up. So lets not count our chickens before they hatch. But assuming everything thing is in order I certainly agree that this should tip out in 2014. I hope it is even visible on the skyline by this coming summer or Fall
