I think the bldg would look really modern if it were tan concrete with white trim around every window.

By the way, about the color.

I'm just guessing that the white concrete the walls are made of is a bit more expensive than regular grey concrete. So it seems reasonable that floors (and core) are made from different concrete than the walls.

Do they use different pumps for different types of concrete? Because pumping white concrete with the same pump that was used to pump grey concrete would probably cause some discolorization.

And counting pixels from the blueprints we have, it seems that about 34 % of the walls is concrete.

After a concrete pour they'll have to flush the pumps anyway, so the concrete should be removed before the next pour.

Now it's the cam.

They have installed new rebar columns on the 56th side.

They put in the rebar for the columns finally!! I was wondering when that was going to happen.

Looks like we'll have some vertical movement soon :-)

I think too, since they are adding new rebar. They have placed 5 new columns.
They have placed a sheet on the core btw.

Which do you mean exactly? If you mean the columns, they stand behind the crane in the 2nd shot.

Btw, they are now filling that tiny floor ( between this tower and the black one ) with rebar.

Interestingly, this time it seems to be going to the newly build wood deck where they just put rebar the last couple of days. They aren't going to the top of the core and using the pump like last time. At least that is what it looks like.

Edit: My bad - they are pumping to the top of the core again.

Edit: Here's an article with pictures about concrete pump in one of the skyscrapers in Toronto. They built the pipes in the building. They managed to pump it from 5th to 68th floor without stop. About 700 ft. That's halfway to the top of 432 PA. With this system they would need only one "resting level".
Actually, a single pump is used to move concrete from the lobby level to the placing boom perched on the top of the super climber.

Check out the link below for a write up about the Putzmeister 14000 trailer pump that will be utilized for this project - actually 2 of them which just came off WTC-4.

Do I see white concrete on 56 Street side at the top of the grey column forms? This looks to be the top of the first level of beams between the columns and appears to be the white concrete...can't wait for those forms to come off! It is quite noticeable from Park Avenue camera
