I know I am nitpicking and I really do like and apprecaite your diagrams but I don't think this thing is at 78 feet. Just look at it compared to some small 4 or 5 story buildings around it. Are they 78 feet? I wouldn't think so.

More to the point, the highest part of the core structure that we see is NOT part of the final building. It is the core building part system gets jacked up each time. But all that blue stuff on top isn't something that is part of the final building - it is just what they are using to help construction. In that respect, it is just like a crane which we would never count in these height estimates. (in fact, the actual building probably best corresponds to where the core system was this morning BEFORE they jacked it up).

Anyways, sorry to take up a post for such a trivial point but if I had to guess the highest actual part of the building is probably 15 to 20 below your 78 foot number. Then again, I could be completely wrong

I'm actually very glad that you have written your doubts. Feedback helps us improve and get better

Since we don't know the actual status of the pouring behind the forms, whether there is already concrete there or not, I consider them part of the building because they look like it and they will be in fact "replaced" by the concrete walls. As to how I came to the height of 78 feet, here is a diagram showing the floor heights and a screenshot where I marked the currently built above ground floors:

Plus, the core building system is also a containment unit for the concrete core as they fill it in. The building is built inside of it, and is an integral part of the structure.

Looks like the core will have to jump once more again before they start the next floor on the 56th street. It's double mechanical floor like the lobby.

are there any floor plans available for the residential/maid floors?
also, is there a place where you can see a floor-by-floor count of the apartments?

It is amazing what a massive presence this building has already on the neighborhood. Even though the building is only up four floors the structural strength it projects is like having a 300lb Gorilla in the room...it is so clear that this building is going way up.... it is incredible to stand on the sidewalk and try and visualize what it will be like when it is topped out!

I repost them
This are the apartments types, I don't know how they would be distributed in the building.

Interesting to note that the full floor apartment above actually makes use of part of the core for the apartment (utility room and powder room)
This must be one of the very top floors (only two passenger elevators and service elevator)

This has to become one pretty tower to compensate for the loss in historical atmosphere.

22.86m. With a height to width ratio of 19:1.

Yup, first form in place and some sort of pour, looks like on the 57th street side, is taking place. Love the speed here.

I just noticed how they place the forms, the crane places it on top of the rebar and than carefully lowers it into position. Better than just build it up piece by piece around the rebar.

Indeed it is. With in the next day or two I would think they'll put in the horizontal rebar like what I took pictures of two weeks ago.

Just thought of this - those forms were probably made especially for this job with the exact dimensions of this project, no?

Retail

I was looking at the plans and it says that for the first few floors there is going to be retail but I can't find a place where they would fit in according to the construction right now
