wow, my home is nearly 3000 sq ft, wife 3 kids, and 3 dogs, and still could use less of a house, just too much to heat and not to mention clean,, so 7000 ft.. on a single level, build a basketball court in their apt if they wanted too.

Actually, each side is 93.5 feet, so square that and get 8,742 square feet per floor. I think the core has sides of almost 35 feet, so if you square that and subtract it from the total floor space, you'll get 7,517 square feet outside the core, which almost perfectly matches 700 metres squared per floor. Good guess!
that sounds about right

so about 100.000 bucks per m2 on those higher floors

to think that my house would cost about 1/100th of that

Possibly, 7 months from now it's still summer so it could be over 200m by then, that is noticable but not yet dominating I think. Btw, no workers on site today.

I'm really surprised the workers go today off. Around here (NC) federal workers were about the only ones off. State offices - open, schools - open, banks - open, universities - open, etc. Traffic during my morning commute was just about as bad as ever. And workers were as busy as bees constructing six new buildings near my office.

Is it a union thing?

I have school off tomorrow (well, today for you, haha) as well, but I highly doubt they'll take off tomorrow/today too. Workers at 1WTC didn't get the day off today/yesterday by the way.

I probably should have just used Monday and Tuesday...

I am all for a paid holiday. I've had a fair taste of manual labor and it isn't something you look forward too. Probably doesn't compare to the work they're doing now. Major respect to the workers.

it's apparent the lower third of the building, won't have near the scenery as the top two thirds,, wonder how much more those floors wil be discounted, compared to the one's that overlook the skyline.

probably quite big discounts.
If I had to choose a floor to live on, I would pick something around 250 meter, just above the bulk of the towers.
A much more dynamic view rather than just emptyness.

With President's Day behind, it's back to work at 432 Park Avenue for the work crews, and a busy day it is. Architectural concrete is being poured using 3 cubic yard buckets, while the concrete pump prepares to hook up for a pour.

Yup, pumps pouring on the west side and buckets used on the east side of the core.

I am not sure if that's true. For the more US populated forum you should go to Skyscraperpage. But Skyscrapercity is the best international

On topic: the concrete crane from the street goes into the core where it pumps it's concrete into another pump which gets the concrete to the final place. How are they going to do this when the floors go up, they can't simply stick the concrete crane into the core anymore.
