There are special kinds of oil which they can add into the concrete or apply them to the forms.

If the transfer beam is gonna span 1 and a half storey's...

The beam that is on the 56th street sidewalk doesn't look to be that big..

I think that is only a part of the transfer beam and then more parts will be assembled in place, right? Thanks

It does stick to the forms, they have to knock them loose typically after it is set.

Hmm, I didn't expect core to stay here so long. This is what, 3rd or 4th pour in the core since the last jump? Previous had 2-3 pours if I recall right.

It is almost surrealistic to actually see a monster like this rising in Midtown. Just incredible. I look forward to watching this rise over the next year or two.

I still can't believe it's actually possible to be built. Its dimensions are surreal.

To think roughly 4 months ago this was just a dirt pit, man their progress is remarkable.. I applaud the progress made so far. Now the square it looks to be right now, the dimensions the square quare dimensions, appearing at street level; roughly 40 ft below the "core", will that whole area be the size of the area, that will that be the size of the area that goes up 1400ft, and if so why does the core appear to be like it is is off center? (if that is the core). This might be a "Stupid question", (or is that not the core(the concrete that's 40ft or so above the rest of the area?) or is that the only dimension of the bldg that will climb? Seriously I don't now and will admit when I don't know,, or are the dimensions going to be what seems to me the part at street level, or is it the area that seems to me to be the core, will that be the only part that goes 1400. I'm thinking that, that has to be the core, the part that is 40 ft taller than the floors at street level, and that whole area 40ft or so below, will be the area that rises,,(street level square), because it doesn't look too thin right now,, maybe once it hit's the 6-700 ft mark its thiness will appear? Stupid question, just need some clarification, if someone could highlight the core, then another color highlight the dimensions that are supposed to rise 1398, that would be appreciated if someone could easily do that, since I suck at using computers.

They poured the core in the last pic (jbcivi), so it may have to set first.

Yesterday was a busy day at 432 Park Avenue. The core walls were poured, the formwork for the next level was started, forms were stripped from the previous floor recently poured, and the exterior climbing forms were raised on the east and west sides.

Today, the south (56St) exterior climbing forms were raised to the next level, and formwork continues to be placed for the new floor. At the north (57 St) side, a concrete beam will be formed, as evidenced by the change in elevation between the dark prefab formwork, and the lighter plywood forms. Form panels will be placed in the opening between the for the vertical portion of the beam, and also on the outside edge as well. As the new floor is being formed, and forms are stripped from the floor below, reshores are placed below the previous floor poured, with the loads above being carried by reshores below placed below the floors below until the concrete reaches design strength.

As the core walls were poured yesterday, the core should rise soon.

Progress is going nicely on this project, and so far, minimal delays due to weather.

Gosh, speed is really picking up on this. They have most of the next floor level placed already - in less than a day and a half!!!

Yes, the core has to rise any minute.

Man, I get a headache from this sentence.

The concrete rising in the middle is only the core, everything you see 3 stories up now will go to the top. Because the building is so low it looks quite big.

Maybe this helps.
