I'm sure this 2/3 days won't be a big problem in the schedule.

I don't think this was ever in jeopardy. Stop work orders are relatively common in NYC. The DOB is under heavy scrutiny after several crane accidents in the last 10 yrs.

The DOB doesn't permit work on Sundays. The exception of course may be some sort of crane installation.

kind of disappointed the tower is pushed back from the street. i feel it would be a complete sense of vertigo and be much more dominating from the street. but then again, how much more dominating could this tower be!

Isn't there some rule which makes it obligatory to build at least a certain distance from the street. At least from a certain height, you have to build further from the street, to allow some sunlight to reach ground level.

I believe that there will be a multistory glass cube on the 57th St side, as on the Park Ave side.

It didn't look like they accomplished much today. I would imagine all their schedules of deliveries were thrown off by the delay - things like huge sections of rebar or concrete probably have to be scheduled days or weeks in advance. Hopefully by tomorrow the pace will pick back up.

im glad that this isnt an all glass tower, it kind of is uncommon now to see a tower that isnt all glass at this height and the white concrete is so nice
