Regarding the core..

You can now see a clear difference in colour of the concrete core. Did they make a mistake? with pouring concrete of the outer conrete structure in to the core structure?

Or is this on purpose? What could the effects be for the structural integrity of building?

Many question but luckely there are many experts on this topic!

I wonder too, first I thought it was something with dry and wet but that can't be it.

Btw, notice the construction elevator coming out of the hole on the 56th side.

Yeah, 225W57th will be America's tallest.

Regarding the tower, I'm really beginning to dig the white concrete, even if it's still not 100% whitish. If done right, this tower could be very classy.

That's what I was thinking as well; but does this affect the structural integrity as the concrete properties of both mixes are different next to only colour. Does someone know the exacts?

BTW nice that the Elev is going to rise now as well. Probably they will use the below grade floors for storage of materials and thus keeping the area below the cranes efficiently spacious.

I am sure the concrete of the core is different from the wall concrete, besides colour.
The core concrete is just regular concrete used everywhere, but the outer wall concrete is something different, what you don't see often. That's what i think.

Slightly more "natural" perspective of NY in 2030.

Yea i totally dig the concrete look for this skyscraper. It will definitely stand out in our skyline with all the glass towers soon to pop up.

^ Awsome renders! I would not mind if the Nordstrom ends up looking like the 2nd picture above. One thing for sure, my little one will know a very different NYC than we all know it today.

Work resumes at 432 Park Avenue following accident

Quote:
Work has resumed at 432 Park Avenue, the site of Harry Macklowe and CIM Group’s planned condominium tower, despite a partial stop work order that remains in effect following Friday’s construction accident, the Department of Buildings confirmed today.

DOB issued the order for “failure to safeguard/unsafe rigging,” records show, and the developers are barred from operating a crane at the south side of the site, between East 56th and East 57th streets, a department spokesperson said.

The crane can be put into use again once the contractor, Lend Lease, can show it has instituted proper safety measures.

But on the whole, work continued, as was apparent from the developer’s video feed of the site, which is publicly available online at 432ParkAvenue.com. (The developers are not barred from continuing all work, a DOB spokesperson confirmed.)

DOB was unable to provide an estimate as to when the stop work order would be lifted. Macklowe declined to comment; CIM Group representatives did not immediately return calls.

Friday’s accident injured a 30-year-old male construction worker, as The Real Deal reported. The partial stop work order was issued by late Friday evening, as the New York Post’s Steve Cuozzo noted on Twitter.

I'm really liking how this stands out on the skyline! I'm gettng more and more accustomed to the cladding as well. My rating for this design's an 8/10

If the rows of glass don't reach the final floor ( ie. if there is a windowless row across the very top, giving a bit of conclusion to the structure) then I will rate this building a 9.5/10!

I mean like this: you can see there are no windows on the top row

only 1-3 inches and it will turn to rain so it's not a big deal for them

Thankfully you seem to be right. They are working today, though I'm not sure if they have a full complement.

They seem to be progressing very slowly with the placement of the current floor.
