I know what 15 Penn looks like. I was talking about the building next to it.

Look. From what I could understand this 3D image of the STR, I believe that buildings of this image (from the Empire State) from left to right is (Projects): 15 Pen Plaza - Manhattan West - Girasole - .... (Now, on the side closest to the Central Park)... Tower Verre - 225 West 57th Street - One 57 - 440 Park Ave.

I'm not entirely sure of that, because some models are very strange, and other projects are not yet defined (Like the 225 West 57th Street).

So I'm shocked that Kanto hasn't posted in here. Is it fair to say at this point that he saw the render, had a heart attack, and is now dead?
ROFLMAO, no, I was just on vacation in the mountains

The building looks awesome. It truly is as beautiful as I had hoped. It would look better without the funky mechanical floors but it is still the best looking building in NYC

Btw, judging by that last pic, it really should be moved to the construction subforum

Fascinating how quickly this went from wow a new project to digging the foundation for me.

No. You people should really read up to what U/C actually means. You can see they're digging a huge hole for the foundation right now, which means preparing the construction site. As soon as the hole is deep enough and they start working on the actual foundation it means the building is under construction.

Proposed ---> the projects has only been released

Pre-planning ---> the projects is going through planning stages.

Approved ---> the project has been passed through planning

Prep ---> construction has commenced preparing the site (ie foundations)

U/C ---> the steel/concrete is now rising

T/O ---> the building has topped off and internal, external construction continues

Comp ---> obviously the project is complete

So in I would of thought prep would be classed as under construction really as there are construction workers on site.

Hah no because in the past lots of projects broke ground and there were workers on the site. Everyone got really excited like, U/C U/C U/C!! Then we were staring at a hole for 2 months which isn't very exciting and people started trolling cuz they got bored etc. In some cases construction workers actually left the site and construction actually started years later either because they didn't have enough money, the contractor or developer pulled out or because the market turned around. You see what I mean? There is always the possibility that we have to disappoint people when a project doesn't pull through and it's already in the U/C section.

I like the design but i think it can do without the circular drums, hopefully the render in the WSJ is the final design

I admit it sounds a little harsh but the fact is that barely any user reads the announcements and sticky threads here. This results into false info, wrong titles and extra work for us moderators. By the way, how am I any better than you are? How are you drawing that conclusion

Well you can't not put a construction project, where work has clearly started, simply in case construction halts.

...but you can damper the side effects. Just wait until the foundation starts and it will be more worth the wait.
