I wonder if the marquee retail box at 432 Park will be a Google Store :-)

Wow, tallest roof top in NYC! I would prefer something more imposing... specially after seeing the nice old small buildings destroyed to be replaced by this tower... .

The small buildings were nothing compared to the grand hotel which took up a bulk of the land. Also, a concrete box is no better than a glass box, if it's still a box.

With 4-day cycle it should be above 50 floors this September. ~800' tall.

This tower looks pretty slender and elegant. Boxes done well can still look great, not every single building needs to be a vegas style show stopper.

What I love about this tower is that it's like the result of a natural process based on the conditions of the place, it's in the middle of a very large skyscraper area, it's a profitable development (not like many towers wich being taller means less profit) and it's really simple, just as vertical and optimized as possible. Just like a geological formation but with human/economical conditions.
And being in such a expensive and wealthy place helps it to be a nice, quality building no matter if it's so simple.
Also being so vertical reminds me to the city in the movie The 5th Element , maybe we're getting closer to that!

And supertall by the end of the year. However they are not hitting 1 floor per 4 days speed just yet.

Yes, until now it's much slower. I hope that will change soon.

Shouldn't that change by the end of the day when the core is raised?

Also, they need to jump the 56th St crane REAL soon

It looks like they are waiting till the last minute to jump the crane so they can tie it in as high as possible

Yup, once the core jumps it will surpass 3WTC

Btw, I wonder when the cranes will reach a point where they have to be fixed to the building in order to stand? Or will they be removed at that point and a new crane directly on the building will be assembled?

I have a feeling the two cranes will just rise all the way up the building as they are now, because they have not left any voids in the floors and there isn't room on top of the core. Also the cranes have their own foundations into bedrock.

That's insane when you get such a height as is predicted on this building.
Probably they will make some sort of an anchor to the building every 5 floors above a certain level. Like they did with the One57 building. (yes that was not in bedrock but you need to prevent swaying, or not?)

they have put up a three story 'facade screen" on 57 street side above the side walk, form across the street you can see above it and clearly see the massive columns and beam on level 6 making the transition between three columns to 7 columns.

yes, they will need to tie in the cranes to the tower as the rise.
about every 8 to 10 floors

they will probably tie the crane back to the core walls every 8 floors through the window openings as they cant add fixings into the exterior concrete.

Hey, did you guys know that the website has been updated, and now closely resembles One57's? I haven't seen it in a few weeks, but I don't recall anyone mentioning it. It has pictures (B&W) of some renderings. http://432park.com/?state=construction
