Wait, so the double floors will actually be counted as one floor?
So will the actual height be equivalent to 93 standard floors?
A tower with 426m roof height easily translates into 100 floors. But nowadays with heigh ceilings, some double mechanical floors and retail you don't get that many stories.
Still, I rather have a 426m tall tower to the roof with only 89 floors than an equally tall one, but to the tip of the spire and 100 floors.

And thanks Dino for marking the progress.

Oh dear, I did not account for the double tier floors. Hopefully this will make the tower rise even faster.

Looks like it could be a while before it will be rising steadily.
I wonder when they will start to put in the glass.

There will be more double floors than just 4, cause if I'm not mistaken the drum mech floors willbe double floors as well

According with the building permits, there will be about 84 "actual floors" (or maybe 83, since the floor numbered as 83 is missing)

http://a810-bisweb.nyc.gov/bisweb/JB...allbin=1088817

But it will have 90 "apparent" levels, including ground floor.

According to my measurements of the Park cam view it appears that so far the upper half of the 7th floor is still behind the core forms and the core forms reach only up to the first half of floor 8. This means that including the core forms the building now reaches a height of 52 meters or 171 feet

Roof height used below

I just noticed something that I think might be interesting. If you look at the 56 st camera and the area where they are decking over the plaza. Notice the open square spaces they are leaving...obviously intentional. But for what? Are these going to be recessed planting areas (some plantings are shown in the plans but not in a regular pattern such as this) Will they be skylights to the retail space below? They look to be almost the same dimension as the windows in the tower (about 11' square) I have not seen anything in th posted plans that illustrates these. Any other ideas?

The tallest building of my entire country has 114 meters to the roof and 194 meters to the pinnacle. Our tallest skyscrapers has 112 meters to the roof so trust me, I know that feeling

Another day another day with no crane jump.

I can only surmise that they are waiting for the forms to be pulled up another floor so that they can make an attachment from the crane to the building at the highest possible level, and they need the lower part of the form out of the way for that.

Still, this is tortuous. If this goes on for me than another day or two I might go down there with a bull horn and start screaming at them "Jump the F*$&ing crane already!!!!"

Just realized, I think they have to jump the crane before they pull the forms up. Once the forms go another level higher the crane won't be able to face towards the street without its ass bumping into the forms. So I think they have to jump it at least one level before pulling the forms up.

So.... why aren't they doing it already??

I think it's time to head down there with the Bull horn. I would take a few coolers full of beer though. A lot of construction workers tend to be on the larger, muscular side of things and they might take your presence the wrong way

You don't live here in the city Tim? I'm so impressed with your knowledge of the city.

Ewww, literature. I purposely got kicked out of that crap back in middle school(late 80's) so I could take another science class. Every time I walked into class, I just wanted to punch the teacher and jump off a desk head first
