Awesome music choice and awesome video. It shows how even something as simple as recording Minecraft can produce an incredible work of art. Thank you very much for posting

I really didn't expect it today.

The last jump was on 17th, last wednesday, so, the distance between jumps has been reduced to 6 days.

We are on double-height floors for a bit so construction will seem faster until we reach the single-tier residental floors which are coming up in a bit.

Also, it is 6:30 PM and they are still working. They start at 7 am so this means they are working 11.5 or 12 hours per day!!!! Amazing.

I guess with the very high levels of profit on this project they can afford all the OT.

Tim 1807,, looking at your photos just above, reposted by iamtheSTIG. The 1st photo looks perfectly normal, then you look at the 2nd, you can clearly see (remember I'm a novice here), 10 feet or more of exposed concrete, that wasn't in the 1st photo. My question to you is how do they raise the roughly 5 story "cap" thats bigger in diminsions, to make these jumps? Up for an explanation to a rookie? Like I said I love scrapers, just trying to understand them more and how these things are done!!! Thanks if you have the time and patience.

The following is a graphic of the system to be utilized:

As it relates to the column cages, all them will be built off-site and ahead of schedule. This is certainly the most efficient way this can be done. Please note that both the columns and the spandrel beams are actually high-strength threaded bars - like foundation tie-backs - and not traditional reinforcing.

In terms of schedule, the bottom half the building is schedule to be a 4 day cycle for typical floors and the top half will be on a three day cycle.

I hope this clears some stuff up for you guys...

This is the exact system they(Doka) are using in action. Go in to about the 4:10 area of the video for the "self climbing" section. As Builder37 said, "What separates this system from the rest, is that it will jump the entire core system - formwork, pump booms and mini-hoist - in one movement of the hydraulic rams; there is no ratcheting action." No crane needed for concrete here.

So two questions... When topped out, this will be the city's new tallest to roof/parapet right? It beats 1WTC by 30ft IIRC...

2nd question... So knowing that the building is so freaking tall, are most highrise enthusiasts over the loss of the Drake and other historic facades that this redevelopment brought about?

So I've updated my diagram. The building is currently 62 meters or 202 feet tall

Roof height used below

that tall already?!?!? :O The building doesn't seem to look that tall in New York

But in my city, this would be the 6th tallest in the city and would stand out quite a fair bit!
