Yes, I prefer the 56th St. Camera aimed to the ground too, so we can see the activity there. Today the image it gives was also pretty dark, but, in the brighter side, at least we were able to see the crane jump.

From 57th street.

You know, maybe they did focus the 56th cam up so it was pointed on the crane because they knew it would jump, and they will reposition is again soon.

Another Jump (of the crane), this time you can see how they add the piece for the tower of the crane.

Look at the top of the crane tower in the background.

Wow, when they jump the crane they really jump the crane. About 4 or 5 sections in one day. At least on the 56th street side they are ready for this to shoot up quickly.

I imagine the 57th Street side will jump shortly.

Maybe so. But still the 56 St cam is better aimed downward for activity at the street. Currently, because of the sky, especially on a bright day, the building is silhouetted against it, rendering it dark. Great, we saw the crane jump, but now what? I am hoping that the cam gets repositioned. There is the tying of beam rebar, general rebar bending, the hoisting of the perimeter beam rebar, concrete truck delivery, the material elevator construction, etc., my point being, that there is activity at the street to see. I also want to see where the relay concrete pump will go as the building grows. The Park Avenue cam, being that it is located at the southeast corner of Park Avenue and E.56 Street, and further away, gives a great perspective of the growing tower against the surrounding buildings that the current positioning of the 56 St cam cannot give.

Here's hoping...........

Say you win the Powerball for 400 million, that still wouldn't touch that penthouse would it?

Huh? 400 million could buy you the top floor plus a few floors below that to use as storage.

Looking at the prices of One 57, the penthouse may be in the range of 100M, so you would have 300M left for other funny things.

I guess we have a complete shut down of the site today due to bad weather?

Sucks but I guess we were due for this. We've had a long run of good weather.

Except for the fact that when you take the cash option value on a large lottery jackpot, as opposed to getting a much smaller check once a year, they immediately cut the jackpot in half so he would be down to $200 million instantly. Then, at least for an Ohio citizen, the federal government takes 25% for income taxes while the state takes 6%. So 31% of that $200 million is gone, leaving $136 million.

You can't spent $100 million, before closing costs mind you, on a home when you only have $136 million in total. That $36 million would be used up by monthly HOH fees and more importantly yearly property taxes pretty quickly, considering some of that $36 million would also be spent on other things.

I am not a person to whine a lot, but I am certainly glad to see that the 56 Street cam is now aimed where it should have been all along: at the 56 Street ground level action. Somebody listened; thanks to that person responsible.

I can see that the material hoist went up a bit, the rebar crew that ties the beam reinforcement has been relocated from the 56 Street frontage to just east of the tower. The second concrete pump is still where it had been relocated a week or so ago.
