I think it will be pretty strange to see this topped out in the skyline. Once for almost 85 years, something taller than the ESB will dominate, and once 225 W 57th is built and other supertalls pop up around town. Density and scale will be reinvented in the city, and the already existing plateau will appear small, even though itīs gigantic. NYC is definately in a league of itīs own. And this tower might be the catalyst for new developments into much higher heights.

I hope they put a clear epoxy coating on it, so the dirt just slides away when it rains.

I love how the 56 cam looks at the ground again. There's many interesting things going on at ground level

Hey folks, on CTBUH they just put the top occupied floor at 387 meters or 1271 feet and the floor count on 84:

CTBUH sometimes has wrong information, we've seen from the cutaway that there are 89 floors and the top occupied floor is 1317 I believe.

Could be but wait for further proof.

For New York it's D.O.B. papers > CTBUH.

Check Out the First Interior Renderings of 432 Park Avenue

Quote:
The first exterior renderings for 432 Park Avenue showed the Rafael Vinoly-designed superscraper towering over its Midtown neighbors. No surprise there—the boxy structure will be the western hemisphere's tallest residential building when it's finished. And the first interior renderings take full advantage of those views. BuzzBuzzHome has a glimpse at two of those renderings; we dug up a third, which may be found below. (Floorplans, for reference, may be reviewed here.) As of March, prices on available units ranged from $20.25 million to $78 million; a penthouse is already in contract for $95 million.

I haven't noticed the slanted in concrete inside other windows. Is this the shape of all the windows or is this one different?
It is the shape of all the corner windows. At least until that floor. Seen here on the 56th Street side at the basement level.

The column shape is also visible on some basement level floor plans. But those corner columns seem to be a different shape on apartment floor plans.

Can't really see a reason why not. Maybe these apartment floorplans have insulation or some such included because the shape of the columns is different.

Maybe they have some insulation on those plans but those corner columns would still extend beyond the insulation. It's either those plans are not up to date or columns will really change. I see no reason why they wouldn't. First of all shape of the column like this on the base would obstacle the views, and secondly as the tower rises it probably doesn't need as strong structure as it has at the base. As far as I know at the base there will be office floors so views are not an issue but as you go to multi-million apartments obstacles like that are obviously not well come.

There has been discrepancy in some of the floor plan renderings over time.
It seems odd to me that they a show REDUCTION in viewable window space in the apartment renderings and and floor plans that doesn't appear in lets say the spa floorplans. Hopefully this is a mistake and the apartments will have full glass exposure. I love the complex shape of the corner columns, they are incredibly massive in person. I looked again at the installed windows again this morning and the bottom reveal does not appear to be any larger than the side or top reveals as it had appeared in some of the computer renders.
