In person you can see it is still a bit shorter than its Park Avenue neighbor. I think one more core jump, at most two, and it pulls even.

It looks like a regular NYC skyscraper now. Can't wait until another 4 or 5 months when it starts looking anything but ordinary.
By the end of this year it will be quite tall already and much more visible in the skyline.

Just to appreciate how tall this building will be: after the poured perimeter has risen another 100 feet or so (to about 465 feet), it will be 1/3 of the way towards its final height.

This official render illustrates it best. The open-air double-height mechanical floors every 12 floors are going to be lit from inside. Don't really know anything more specific than that, but I'd wager it's going to be basic white, as opposed to any kind of crazy colors.

Probably my favorite element of the design actually.

The new 59th street cam looks great!

what's the height of the core now? is it 1 more jump till it's taller than its black neighbor?

would be nice to have Kanto update his diagram soon hopefully it'll be the right height this time

I like the way these technical floors 'break up' the building into segments. When occupied, it will be a lively picture with light from the apartments as well.

I'd love to see a color start on the bottom mechanical floor and move up one at a time with a different color to follow, then another and another. Probably not all the time but early at night and on special occasions.

They've definitely built one or two 'bands' by now. I wonder if they will really have the circular walls?

What r u guys talking about when u say "bands?" If it's 465 ft already,,it's well over a third of the way to t/o,, diagram time Kanto,, by the way where is Kanto? I'm guessing bands must be the open floors every 20% or so. And what will they use those floors for? The diagram shows about 5 two story gaps, that would be PRIME real estate, can't believe they would not try to sell every inch of the tower..

I also think that simple rectangular "boxes" as a design element for a highrise is "ugly", but I think this building makes up for that simply because of its thinness. I really like the renders, and I think once completed this building will be stunning. It just looks so "out of place" like it should not be able to exist that tall and thin, and I think that is going to give it a "weird and intriguing" mystic presence which will make it an icon. And I think that was the architect's intent. He decided to go grand, by going thin, and I find that is interesting in itself.

I think mr Viñoly has really grasped the best minimalist yet elegant lay out for this thin tower.

To reduce the wind-load mainly, but also architecturally it makes the building more interesting.

The black building next door (450 Park Avenue) is 391 feet tall. Right now the 432 Park perimeter looks like it's about 360 feet tall, and the core seems about even with the top of 450 Park.

All 3 webcams are down right now.

Great updates by ILNY. Now I'm pretty sure the concrete still has to be processed in some way. I can't believe they would leave it like that.

I think they will add some "clad" on it. I hope it won't only be painted.

It wont be clad, nor painted. It will be left exposed, but it will be cleaned.
