I had no Idea Fenchurch was also by RV. It is a dramatic change in architectural approach between Fenchurch and 432 PA.

I agree. They look so different, but the environment of both towers is very different as well.

They are placing new rebar columns, 57th&1st, can you already see the tip of them from your apartment?
with the upcoming crane jump, I think you will see the cranes over that silver glass building.

Just took a look, and still can't see anything but the core. I think you're right that the new rebar is solidly above the roof line of the Franklin building, but from my angle it's still blocked (I'm about 4 blocks away and 10 floors lower).

My guess is the next level will pop into view for me... At the rate they are going, I'm predicting next Tuesday.

A Winkie

image hosted on flickr

A lifetime ago, I worked on multi-image slide shows that attempted animation by rapidly flashing sequences of slides on a screen. I learned that a "winkie" is a photographic effect that simulates light bouncing off metallic objects... It was a very '80s thing.

Well, here's a real winkie on the Franklin National (aka black) building!

Tackiness? How exactly is that building tacky looking? It looks great to me. It possesses an interesting and unique shape and its exterior design is really no different from most skyscrapers from the era it was built. The design somewhat resembles that of 60 Wall Street.

This building looks very nice but why Drake Hotel had to be demolished?

Another loss in a row.

Imagine if they built it with red glass, like the color of the construction netting?

This annotated image lists the height of the buildings surrounding 432 Park. The new tower should rise above all its immediate neighbors by the end of this year.
