I so look forward to the unveiling of more glass. The windows are absolutely huge for single-panes of glass.

Hey folks, I'm back. In the last month I had a hell of a lot real life issues to resolve so I had no time for the forum, but I'm back now and Ipd like to know what's the current height so that I can update my diagram?

57th&1st, how is it looking from your apartment?
I'm traveling at the moment - as of when I left yesterday morning, the first visible row of windows had just come into view... I'll post a pick when I get home tomorrow!

The last jumps were on 8/15 - 8/20 - 8/23 - 9/3 - 9/6 and 9/13, between 8/23 and 9/3 there is a long span because of the long holiday of labor day, when they took like 4 and a half days off, (they didn't work on friday, saturday, sunday, monday and I think they didn't work thursday afternoon either)
That gives 5 jumps in 28 days, meaning there is an average of one jump every 5.6 days (I am not counting the jump of 8/15, since it is the "jump zero" for this count) I think that we can round up that to 5,5 since there was a long holiday in between that inflated the count.
In that time there were 21 working days, so they are making a 4.2 day cycle per jump, taking in account only working days.

With 110 days left for the end of the year, at a rate of 5.5 days per floor, by january first they should do about 20 more floors. so if they are currently at the 33rd floor, it should be at the 53rd floor or 821.5 ft / 250 meters. (always talking of apparent floors, which I found more representative of this tower than the actual floors)

If the renders are accurate, we should have a mechanical/open-air terrace zone coming up soon.

Wow, I expected it to be than 33 apparent floors as of now. It's awesome how it picked up speed. 33 apparent floors mean that the building is atm 156 meters or 512 feet tall

Roof height used below

Yup, as CCs77 said, if this speed continues, we can see the building starting beating the completed buildings in my diagram on Xmas holidays

I love the design of 432 Park Tower. I'm just super excited to see it completed it will be magnificent! It has elements of post modern minimalism and also from some of the renderings it has an art deco look also in terms of the spaced windows. I like that it isn't another glass tower, it has a gothic shape to it.

Personally while I like One World Trade Center, I much prefer the design of 432 Park. One WTC is nice but a bit too cookie-cutter for me. a.) 432 Park will be structurally taller and does not have a token spire or antenna I think New York has enough spires now. b.) I also like 432 Park better because it is being built much faster and without all the interference of bureaucrats like the Port Authority. That's how architectural icons should be built, based on the architect's vision, and not subject to constant butchering by bureaucrats! So the actual vision of the architect will be the final product!
I also think the tower's unique narrowness will greatly accentuate its height & it's roof height will be the tallest in the city, and so no spire controversy! This tower is going to be a real icon!

I am wondering, I know it will be residential, but due to it's huge height, will it have any kind of observation deck? I suppose not due to it's function?

Ok, as promised, here's the view this morning:

Up close (via 200mm lens):

A little farther back - the 56th St crane is now the tallest point in the neighborhood :

And, stealing an idea from a post McFly made a week or so ago, here's some context relative to the neighboring buildings as viewed from my place:

Obviously from my angle on 1st Ave, closer buildings look taller - e.g., the (relatively) puny 950 3rd Ave looks taller than the Carnegie Hall Tower, even though it's barely half the height.

The building in this picture that is the closest to 432's distance from me is the Park Avenue Tower - and 432 is going to be almost exactly 2 1/2 times as tall!

(BTW, for anyone not familiar with NYC's avenues, from east to west they go: 1st, 2nd, 3rd, Lexington, Park, Madison, 5th, 6th, 7th, etc...)

Cool!

It seems already pretty close in height to Park Avenue Tower, looks like it is as high as the roof of it.

By the end of october or early november it should be rising above that 950 3rd ave building.

the 950 3rd avenue is only 116m tall, 432 is already over 150m according to Kanto and other members

I never realised how much this tower has grown in the past month or so though! To say that it could be as tall if not taller than Carnegie Hall by Christmas is insane!
