Thanks to all that provided pictures today. I downloaded Google Chrome, as one poster did, and magically that elusive 59St cam came to life. It was frustrating today not having the live view. Still a mystery why it didn't work.

57th&1st, Nice shots. You are located just east of the Excelsior on Second Avenue, with a great view. Once 432 Park Avenue passes the buildings currently blocking it, you'll have the fun of watching it grow.

The speed really seems to have picked up, as I believe the perimeter beams have been poured, and it seems that the formed floor might very well be poured tomorrow. If so, they have shortened the cycle.

I hope I can see 432 Park from Downtown Brooklyn soon. At least a prominent crane (I've seen a couple of them, but I want to get to the point where I know the crane belongs to 432 Park!)

Once again, that 59St cam is down. EarthCam has to get their %$^$% together. Concrete is being poured today, and I suspect it is the floor, since the east facing exterior climbing form is on the rise, as seen on the working Park Avenue cam.

The last floor pour date was 9/16 (Monday); if the new floor is actually being poured today, then the cycle has been shortened to just 3 days between floor pours. If this is a floor pour, there is 4 more floors before the second of the open sections are reached.

Okay, I've already gone on record saying I've come to really like an appreciate the simplicity of the design of this tower, and I don't necessarily want to give fodder to those who rag on the design and call it uninspired, AND I do realize it's not entirely helpful to play retroactive hypotheticals...

BUT, after seeing the recently released renders for 529 Broadway, this insane but sort of wonderful vision/thought occurred to me and I had to write it down somewhere. And that's what if 432 Park were being clad like THIS, with the windows and terra-cotta facade transforming in proportions as they wrapped around and rose up to the top of the tower...

Someday anyway, I hope someone adapts that brilliant piece of architecture into a skyscraper. In the meantime, I'm happy to return to the regularly scheduled ooh-ing and aah-ing at this already insane marvel of a tower as it starts to break through the plateau.

^ Totally agree. I'm very happy with the design for 529 Broadway and if a skyscraper would be designed like this, it would be a New York Instant Classic!

Rafael VIÑOLY on 432 Park Avenue (Video)

Vinoly says 432 is 1446ft tall or something like that! lol!

Funny interview but I have to say this tower will look amazing, especially at night.

I've always liked the 777 Tower in Los Angeles. That design is reminiscent of this.

They already completed all the formwork for the new floor, since the 59th camera was offline, we couldn't see if they pour the core. I guess not, because they were pouring during the morning I suppose the slab. In the afternoon they didn't do any poor, I don't think they pour both the floor slab and the core in the morning.

Yeah, me too, I always find myself craning my neck whenever I drive by on the 110. Best building in DTLA by a mile until Wilshire Grand goes up.

And, I think it illustrates how a simple grid of windows can be beautiful. I actually hope that the concrete on 432 Park winds up looking closer to this white in the sunlight than it currently does in the shade of the canyon.

I was hoping for a way better highest skyscraper of NYC... but with 225 West 57th Street downgraded I'm loosing hope. Not that the design of 432 is so bad, but it's not a design of a king of the top city.

The reports regarding the height reduction were incorrect & it was likely either false or outdated information; the frenzy this forum has been whipped into based on a few choice words FAR removed from Barnett is ridiculous...

Heh, yeah, you haven't historically been a fan of how this thing is turning out. Let's hope they've figured out how to get the concrete curing properly in the cold, come winter time. Otherwise, we might be able to track the age of parts of the building by the streaks in the concrete, like the rings on a tree.

...which, as an architectural concept is actually sort of cool. But lordy would that be ugly in practice.
