How awesome would it be if an architect designed a skyscraper that did something like that, or even this?

So, welcome! Have you been on the website before registering? Because I visited here for over a year before registering. More importantly, do you have any interest or experience in architecture?

I wish you a warm and happy welcome. Keep posting, #99.
Thank you,

I studied fine art at university, some of my work had an architectural feel to it, generally using building shape as influence.

I also dabble in minecraft skyscraper building.

They seem to be pouring columns again right now, meaning that they sort of break the cycle by skipping the core,. That's odd, I wonder why they do that.

It would look roughly the same, from a lateral viewpoint, especially if contrasted with the white columns.

No recessed windows??? Are you kidding, right? If that's true they ****ed up all the amazing beauty of this tower. I can't believe it.

There will still be a recessed 'frame' of the window.

I like the last photo. The concrete really gives it character.

That first photo, looking up from the base, is already giving me vertigo -- just imagining what it will look like when it's done. From all the skyline renders, I've gotten pretty comfortable with the notion of how thin and tall this thing is going to be, but now that it's coming together, it's starting to look pretty freaky.

Anyone fancy him-or-herself good enough with perspective lines to draw in what the tower will look like from ground level in one of those photos?

In pics from the base of the twin towers it looked like they were endless. I'm sure this will be the same here, with this slim tower looking up from the base it will appear as if there is no end to it.

Congrats, Tim!

In the meantime, the 57th Street cam is zoomed in on the top of the core, where at least 20 workers are assembled. I wonder what's going on?

How far away is it before the first "opening" level in the building.
