They moved the Park Avenue camera to a higher vantage point. I'll post some screencaps later, as I caught them moving it around a bit, and zooming it in and out.

Here's as close-up a shot as I can get of the 'black things':

To my eyes, looks like gaps left in the concrete, with the internal rebar exposed (presumably to facilitate solidly attaching something later on).

That's what I am thinking.
Btw, to me it looks like the core is now more than 16 meters higher than the Fuller building ( to the right behind 432 in my screenshot ), which is 150m, anyone agree?

That building just to the right of 432 Park in the view just above is the Fuller Building (1929), which is 492 feet tall.

I guess the new Park Ave Camera is placed at the Citicorp? In that case it would be the Lexington Camera...

Indeed, definately the Citygroup Center.
This cam also provides good views onto the proposed 425 Park Avenue site.

They need to jump the 56st crane!

There are 2 concrete trucks on the 56th Street side, some netting being removed from the Park fašade, and a perimeter rebar pour occurring.

Can't help it, I keep worrying about this thing toppling. I know that's silly, but it's so tall and thin.

Once it survives a hurricane...

Meh, look what happened in the hurricane last year. the boom of the One 57 crane got blown over, but the tower of the crane was fine, even with the broken crane on top!

Don't you worry. Significant amounts of engineering go into the planning of towers such as this. It's built to withstand anything it's reasonably expected to come across, and then some, with a good safety margin on top of that to boot. Unless anybody specifically try to bring it down, it will stand firm.

It's about lined up with the pyramidal building to the south of it, so I'm going to estimate that it's sitting at about 561 feet, or about 40% of the total height. To think it's not even halfway done!
