Yep, it will soon make its mark on the skyline when it rises above its neighbors. .

That would actually make a lot of sense! Why didn't they think of that??

Because they are developers, not skyscraper nerds? And they measure in feet?

Many with even full-fledged balconies, and they're just fine.

I didn't notice. I saw in the 111 thread, but not from that angle. Looks great!

Those are fresh air intake grilles... Since the windows are non-operable that's the only way to "open" a window.

Interesting... so there will be some sort of manual operable unit similar to a standard window vent? Do you know if I can find a cross section anywhere?

That seems like it will create some very intense pressure differentials from the interior to the exterior when you're up 89 floors. Its impressive given the huge size of the windows themselves.

Looks like mechanical floors are done. Progress has sped up considerably. They were pouring the core earlier today.

A while back when I was a newbie I mentioned I have this apartment w/ tenant nearby 432 park and I promised to take pictures once it’s visible. I don’t go there unless I have to and today was the day!

So from now on I will drop by once a month to take photos as it rises even higher with my good camera.

I also included some other shots of the views taken from my iphone camera from my building.

432 Park

432 Park

Unfortunately when 111W57 rises I would not be able to take pictures because it would be blocked by the GM builing, however the Nordstrom I should be able to.

One57

Bloomberg Tower

Central Park

Upper East Side

I also had a great view of Citi Corp and Chrysler but my battery died. lol.
