Absolutely! Even if he might not "understand" the look, he's still free to dislike it.

New York is besieged by polar vortex #.2 right now, very Armageddon-y.

I was thinking the same thing. It gives you a much better sense of its height when you see it in context.

Only in New York is 223m unimpressive. Jesus what a city.

I just find it odd that CIM would actively maintain the live cams for over a year, but just as 432 Park starts to break out in the skyline, they drop the ball. The 59th Street camera has been dead for about a week, and the 53rd Street camera hasn't been adjusted upwards in weeks.

It came a long way.

Amazing progress! NY wouldn't be the same these days without its two massive clusters.

Shouldn't be that long with floor plates so small and uniform. Now, if those vortices would just bugger off!!!

t94,

Thanks for posting that beautiful b&w picture of Midtown, looking north, taken from I believe the Empire State Building. The picture most likely dates from the 1930s, as quite a number of the tall buildings seen were built during that period. Note how the RCA (now GE) Building stands out so prominently, overlooking Central Park. Nearer, to the right, 500 Fifth Avenue makes a strong presence on the corner of 42St and Fifth Avenue. Going further to the right (east) is the Waldorf-Astoria Hotel, with its twin towers. Just in front of the hotel is the New York Central Building, and to its right, the Lincoln Building.
