I think a picture shows it is covered with a sort of clear covering now instead of a white one.

This has to be the longest time between your updates? Imagine when it gets above 900 there will be very few diagrams.

I'm glad you like them. But the real thanks go to the people behind the scenes working tirelessly to create such magical renderings that the rest of us enjoy looking at so much. (Been watching the Oscars.)

They seem to be raising the perimeter forms, I'm surprised they didn't raise the core first, hopefully that'll be soon!

Maybe it has something to do with the white crane. Isn't it supposed to come down pretty soon?

Drab Day in Gotham

View from 68th St, South side facing south across back of next block. In a couple of weeks the full width of the building will show over the top of the hotel. When finished 432 should appear about twice the hotel's height. Not too shabby!

Does anyone know what that crane is about to the lower left of 432?

They could have done a better job with the design but the titanic height doesn't disappoint.

It's not too bad. It is rather staid, but this is uptown NYC, what do you expect? I do like the bauhaus feeling to it. I would have preferred to see it clad in metal.

Shiny metal would have made for the best cladding but hopefully the bare cement and glass won't look too bad.

Well, in my opinion, design is a much higher priority than height, so it's still disappointing to me
But to each their own, I guess

It looks a bit unimaginative, IMO.

This slightly dated panorama from the East River will soon have a whole new focal point, shifting the visual peak of Midtown to the north:

^Nope, that will always be the ESB (followed by Chrysler), no matter what. If we're talking about new supertalls, that will most likely be 1WTC (and eventually 2WTC) because the tower's site alone is world famous for obvious reasons.
I do agree though that this tower might attract many tourists or the public in general because of its unique skinniness.

Yeah, that's probably the best way to describe it. It's not bad, I mean it's not like the aesthetics are unpleasing to the eye or something. It's just there, obviously striking in height, but average in design.
