Has there been any sense of the reception among the general citizens of the city? Do they like it, hate it or simply see it as another tall building?

That's true. Fact is, even us skyscraper fanatics know only very little about it. The developers are rather secretive about this project

Am i right in that people on really notice the buildings when they begin to rise and become noticable.... like 157 didnt have a lot of attention until it could be seen from central park.

Most New Yorkers probably have no idea that One 57 is rising unless they live or work in the immediate area, and if so, they probably have no idea how tall it will be or what it will look like unless they read the property section of the WSJ or Post regularly.

Even though most people do not notice these buildings...
The look on their faces when they notice a topped out 1400ft tower will be priceless

Doubt it. Most New Yorkers are too busy to care about this type of stuff.

Maybe so with "regular sized" skyscrapers. But a tower this tall will be noticeable from nearly everywhere (from outer boroughs, bridges, trains, planes etc.). Sooner or later, every New Yorker will take notice.

When people see the sleek metal and glass facade rising and the unique floating tower design of this 432m structure, they will love it.

That's true. This tower will be impossible to miss when looking at NYC's skyline. In my opinion this is the future icon of NYC

I disagree. Think about it. A beautiful yet simple 1400ft building will amaze people, maybe enough to reconsider making buildings like 15 Penn Plaza, which was deeply criticized for being too tall and too close to the ESB. If not, then it will certainly draw attention and attraction for having the tallest roof height in America.
Oh, can someone please edit a picture of midtown and put 432 park in it? I want to see how this might look like in the skyline.
