So many of the neighboring towers to 432 Park just don't belong anywhere in the same class.
Irony, thy name is citybooster.

From New Rochelle, Westchester Co. about 23 km north of Midtown Manhattan, the views from there are absolutely magnificent.

You can see the building between ESB and BofA Tower.

The buildings in the foreground are Co-op City, in the Bronx (5 km to the south) and the wooded area, low density, suburban homes on Pelham Manor.

215 west 57th street will be rising by the time 432 tops out, it won't be top dog in Midtown for long

Classless, thy name is GunnerJacket. Walk much of midtown and tell me how many memorable towers were built here since the 50's? Why the need for the snarky comment here when a lot of people do like 432 for its elegant, deceptively simple design.

Am I in the business? No... I don't have great qualifications, don't consider myself an expert. I love the pace of the city.... next time snark at your computer if you don't like my comments but please don't give a veiled insult without going into an explanation why you find my comments so amusing. Are there not vast stretches of soulless, uninspiring towers evident especially in the Midtown area? I was pointing out to my friend the post 1950 crap as well as the good older stuff that remained. Then excitedly pointing out the new towers going up that will make for a very different, far more positive impression to both those from the city and visiting on business or pleasure.

I don't see it as deceptively simple. I see it as overly simple. It's the same shape as about a 5 foot tall piece of 4x4 lumber. (I don't care to do the math to get the proportions exact). There is nothing to feast your eyes on.

Every time I look at it I think of a Kit Kat bar.

That link goes to a selling page, don't open it. Please erase that post. And then you can erase this one too.

Not really butt they look huge relative to their positioning, more or less they're no bigger than a picture window.

At 10' x 10' square, they're just about the largest window panes in the world...

A small car would fit in the window.

Hell, a large car would fit fairly comfortably. If you're talking about small cars, you could fit two classic Fiat 500s -- side-by-side -- with room to spare.

Some like you don't like it, and it's basically personal tastes. Many love it and really do enjoy the design... hopefully when it's all built out and done you'll change your mind but I respect your opinion about the design.
