Ohh my mistake I always thought it was 937 ft ...well after the next jump it will be back to mechanicals so it will probably slow down slightly

Now it will start to become the dominant tower in this part of midtown as it is rising well above Citygroup Centre!

However, expect a delay in the rising of the building any time now due to work on the mechanical floors are about to start within a core jump or so

Will that be the last or second-to-last mechanical floor on this tower?

Second to last. It still has roughly 450 feet to go.

2/5/14

Taken this morning, a lot of work going on tucks coming and going.

For anyone who complains that they don't like this building and hasn't actually seen it in person, you have no idea how insane this thing is to stand next to.

The soaring-factor of this building will be extreme.

They're raising the outer forms this morning.

Good lord this building looks tall. It already visually dwarfs One57.

I hope they pull the camera wider soon so I can stop doing these cruddy Photoshop jobs. Maybe by the next crane raise. It already kinda does look taller than One57 from that angle.

I get the feeling they'd like to top out by October or November so they don't have to deal with pouring concrete at 1400 feet in another winter like the one we just had.

I wonder if the owners of 450 Park Ave will do something about the lower half of the south facing wall. Since the Drake Hotel is gone and podium won't be blocking those views anymore, I hope they put some windows in. That looks very unattractive.

It's hard to believe how this skinny building can stand so tall without falling into one side.

Okay, this building looks too tall now when you look at it from up close. From the skyline 20 miles away it doesn't look that tall from it does up close. But I hope when it tops out it'll look super tall from the skyline from all 5 boroughs and New Jersey. But when you look at it from ground level and you're right next to it, your eyes play a trick on yourself and this looks like the Burj Khalifa (okay, maybe not THAT tall). And 927 feet! Not far from becoming a supertall!

How amazing would it be if the mech floors' lighting could change colour with occasion like ESB and 1WTC?

The tower looks great! I was in the city Friday and got a couple good shots. Sorry, I'm still pretty much a novice... I'd like to share my pictures. How can I add they to my posts?
