Why must I have high expectations if I don't like the towers you think are fantastic? Maybe I like stuff which you hate. It's all subjective man.

You say there's room for 'powerful tall towers with a conservative presence that don't clash with other buildings' and I entirely agree with you there. The thing is, in my opinion this tower in no way has a conservative presence, something this tall even in NYC will have a huge presence. Why can't we just agree to disagree? I'm not assuming you have low standards for liking this, we just like different things. I don't think towers should always be incredibly imaginative and strange to look at. I've never said they shouldn't build this, who would I be to say that? All I keep giving is my opinion that I would love this tower if it was about 250m, then it'd be a 'powerful tall tower...with a conservative presence that...doesn't...clash with other buildings'.

I know London's probably not due any more supertalls, and I don't really care. NYC has one of the best skyline's ever and it's way more interesting. London is pretty iconic, but in terms of skyscrapers it just can't compete. I only mentioned London at all because Robert suggested that residents of a city must love tall buildings, and by using a close to home example which he might accept as grounds for my reasoning I could illustrate that that simply isn't true.

It's a universal truth that when people trade opinions on any subject on the internet you will always get people who just can't accept that we don't all agree and that that's just fine.
You said it was 'pointless' a few posts ago. Anyway, you must admit, if you say a tower is pointless, you should expect to be challenged by someone.

Really, why would you say such a thing? Pointless? Just like Fenchurch street which although short, is a monstrosity and ruins the skyline IMO? Now, I would never say it was pointless myself because the developers will probably make a profit off it and London's economy will benefit. Aesthetics are really a small portion of the equation.

Oh yeah my bad, I didn't remember, I just looked at the one you quoted. It was a poor choice of words which I just bashed out quickly. As you said, economically this tower's about as far away from pointless as you can get, so yeah I concede it was the wrong word to use. I actually quite like 20 Fenchurch, but there we go.

You know what buddy, it's rude to butt into other people's dealings. I'm sure Bruce is a big boy and can take care of himself. I'll leave it at that.

They are excavating the property 33 right now , and 46, 145, 45, 44, 43, 42, and 41 are to be demolished.
Wow, that is one horribly out-of-scale diagram. 100' looks only slightly longer than 67' 1''.

If 432 Park is planned to be a rectangular building in the through-block from 57th St to 56th St, then what are they planning in the 100 ft by 67 ft 1 in box at the NW corner Park/56? Is that going to be a public plaza?

Fine? It's so horribly inaccurate that even I could draw you a better one. Last time I checked my math skills 149 was more than 133 and 100 was more than 67

I'd say it's ****ed up. According to it, 5 inches is longer than 33 feet.

If all distances are marked, diagrams don't need to be to scale.

Well take it to PM then, rather than posting it on a public forum. It would allow the rest of us to continue reading / participating in a civil discussion. Thanks.

Here's an image which I found. It doesn't have the plant floors, and it looks like a Google Earth sorta thing, but I like it. It might be old, and it may have been posted before, but there we go, I figured I should bring it to people's attention just in case.

Is it just because of the angle, or do the windows get bigger as you go up? If that was actually what the tower was gonna have it'd make it way more interesting to me.

EDIT: Apparently the model was made by STR, which I didn't know. Very well done sir.

It's a model by STR, you should probably credit the pic.
