There is what looks like a giant I-beam on the ground visible in the 56th street cam. Any idea of what that is? It looks huge.

Do the vents along the bottom of each window serve a purpose or are they just detailing?

You can't open the windows, so they're there for fresh air intake.

hm... call me sadist, but I just had a vision in my head of a high forced wind blowing into a wealthy man's apartment knocking him down after he opened his huge window on a high floor of this building

Nice perspective. These old buildings on the sides of the street look lovely, are they landmarked?

Agree with you totally. The Park Avenue is, in my opinion, the best avenue in NYC.

Most of them are landmarked. The UES Landmarked District along Park Ave starts at 59th St. Park Ave is very beautiful but also at night very quite. A lot of big apt buildings with doormen. The cross streets up to 96th St from Fifth to Park are best and the very best are from 65 to 80 between Fifth and Park. That is where the uber townhouses are. Last year zip code 10065 was wealthiest in U.S.

Marvelous close-ups of 432 Park Avenue and other great New York buildings too... From the top of the ESB.
