No as CCs77 pointed out there was a core jump that no one noticed back on May 27. It is 1023 feet/311.8 meters

Plus the one that billgates noticed last friday (along with a crane jump), it should be at 1038.5 ft, just one jump away from surpassing Chrysler Building, all the way to the tip of its spire (as well as also surpassing the tip of the NYT Building's spire)

With that, it only has to surpass the spire of BofA Tower, and the roofs of ESB and 1WTC, but that's still a few months away.

It is cool how in this picture, One57 is reflected in the protection glass, just next to 432.
It has now reachead a height, where the people start noticing it and taking pictures of the building as the main target.

^Riding the BQE in Brooklyn yesterday, amazed to see how it dwarfs the Bloomberg Tower. Really dominating that stretch of skyline already.

Anything that further hides the Sony Chippendale is a good addition.

Again i checked myself and it wasn't a full jump from what i have gathered, feel free to prove otherwise in comparing pics, id happily be wrong

Also just before the crane jump, the core seemed to have raised a little bit again, do maybe it was 2 half jumps?

I agree! The Sony Building is one of the worst in Manhattan.

The Sony building is a nice tower with a nice cladding. I don't see anything wrong with this neomodern building except it should be taller. Its top is a refreshing reminder of an era where architects used some imagination to design the top of a tower.

However, I really dislike the optical effect of 432 Park's huge windows. The tower would have looked much taller with a different cladding and it doesn't enhance its shorter neighbors.

@ CCs77 and DannyR2713, the yellow line is perfectly horizontal, the core has been raised, but it doesn't look like a full jump to me.... hmmmmm

What? Do you know how many ugly boring towers there are in Manhattan? That's nowhere near the worst buildings.. Haha, what a lark Thanks for the laugh, that was good

For me it's not the worst, there are worse ones like 60 Wall Street or Beaver House. It looks like kids designed those.

Really? A child could design a box made of glass too, you know?

So, you'd incude the Sony building in with all those ugly towers in 42 street, times square, the upper east side, etc? I hope not, I'd expect some more common sense from you.

well on June 8th you could see the perimeter Is at level 65(1007.5ft) and the core is above it! Probably the camera was moved and maybe the tower getting so tall that is hard to spot the top on the earth cam

Yes, you may be right, could be two half jumps, making a single one.

There is no doubt that the perimeter grew by two stories, but the core seems to grew only by one, if it were growth two stories, it should protrude more, similar as in the first picture.

So, it should be now at 1023 ft. and not at 1038.5 as I stated before.

Gentlemen,

I agree that the core has not made a full rise. There was a partial rise when the crane had not yet been raised. However, bear in mind, that as the tower continues its climb, we will reach a point where the core will no longer be visible as the 59 St. cam's vantage point atop the Bloomberg Building becomes lower relative to 432 Park Avenue. At that point, only the raising of the exterior climbing forms will be viewable on both the 53rd Street and 59th Street cams.
