I like the building. In particular, the stairs between the building parts.

The competition price of the ugliest towers in NYC goes tooooooooo... CitySpire Center and XYZ Towers (CitySpire Center is just ugly and XYZ towers look so boring as they sound.)

432 Park Avenue makes good progress. At first I didn't like it, but I like it more and more, because it's getting taller and taller

Amazing!! It looks realistic and so much better without the junk on top!

Photos from the buildings' era really make me like them. The steps in that building are nice, in my opinion, but the facade could have been poured better. Don't like the curved atrium either.

And I love the XYZ buildings, especially when I saw them from the base. It's hard to realize they are as old as they are.

I just can't make up my mind on my opinion of this tower.

It looks like something my 4 year old niece could have designed. That's what's so awful about it, and so great about it at the same time.

I'm inclined to like it lol.

The brutalist building is a little bit too much of a mish-mash, especially in the middle, although in general I'm inclined to like them.

I have mixed feelings about XYZ. They're very imposing, and ahead of their time. But between their huge, monolithic nature, and the repetitiveness of both the facades and the buildings themselves, I find them sort of overbearing, Orwellian even. On a bad day, I might say they belong in Brasilia, but that's maybe a little harsh.

It's going to be really hard to judge while the mechanical floors are still covered in safety netting. The facade will be less endlessly repetitive, and I believe the tower will feel significantly lighter and airier once you can see through those sections.

The outside of the 2 walls look really nice, but then there's the awfully awkward bare inside of the walls, out-of-place stair-step connecting pieces, and then the atrium not only doesn't match any of the design, but it's at a different angle than the rest of the building.

XYZ aren't bad. Awesome for the canyon effect and nice minimalist aesthetics, but they're so damn big (each is about ESB's size). I just wish that space was spent on a taller design.

You can see the white coverings on the West side have been taken down. Someone should take some new photos with the windows uncovered!

that's another building, One Astor Plaza. Pretty prominent on the skyline.

The ugliest building in Manhattan is, number one and two winners, 375 Pearl st and the monstrous, windowless, brutalist child, 40 story Verizon Phone Substation building in Lower Manhattan:

Vinoly wants everyone to stop talking about ugly buildings in one of his building's threads!

I quite like the facade of this building, but the flat featureless top just doesn't work for me. It's crying out for some kind of an element up there. Something!
