I can't believe 432 park avenue is 1000 feet now! I just know that when this building tops out, it will dominate the midtown skyline! You know, One57, which is more than 1000 feet tall, doesn't look extremely dominant when you look at it from the south. and even though that may be because of its thinness and unique southern facade, 432 will definitely be much more imposing. Looking at it 10 miles away it still looks not incredibly noticeable, but I know and hope that will change. I also hope it doesn't stay that fat (it may have a relatively small footprint but it's still a little fat now).

And by the way, 600th page!

WOOOW!!!!!!

They are really speeding up, there were jups on the 11th, 13th and today 16th... three jumps in just five days!!!
Taking off the sunday, it was only two (working) days between the last two jumps...

The last crane jump was on june 6th, and the core is again getting close to the cabin. At this pace they'd have to lift it again by next week...

You really get a sense of the way the mechanical floors break up the tower into the "floating mini towers" in that last shot from CP. Those gaps are incredibly distinctive, for a tower that's otherwise so simple. Can't wait to see them with the lights at night.

I'm glad it's not thinner. If it was, it would not be as credible as a building, let alone a residential building. It would look cool and beautiful if it was even thinner than it is, but not as imposing and substantial in the skyline as it does now.

And when it reaches final heigh, it will look much skinnier. And massive too.
I only wish it would be even taller... 500 meters would be nice or 600 !

Let's hope for even a couple of surprise floors more.... (there must be laws against surprises like that though)

...Nice progress with the building lately.

Hmmm.. I'd say about 25% left, still quite impressive.

That doesn't mean it has 40% more to go... It has roughly 25% more to go as 25% of ~1,400 ft is 350 ft. If you subtract 1400 from 1069 ft (current height to core), you get close to 350 ft. (331 to be exact.)

Heh, I believe you're both right. I understood ShvoJob to mean that there's an additional amount yet to be built, equal to 40% of the current ~1000 ft, or "It's a thousand feet now, just imagine another 40% of that on top!" But you're right that there's ~25% of the total 1400 ft. left to be built.

Isn't language fun.
