it's cool to see the new skyscrapers which where built in the past 4 years so prominent on the skyline from that angle. One 57, 1715 broadway, 250 w 55th, and now 432 Park. Eventually 1 Vanderbilt Place will rise between One Astor Plaza and the Bank of America tower, and the 57th Street towers will dominate. Pan over to the right, and the Hudson Yards will form a wall of skyscrapers next to the river. It's a good time to be a construction watcher in NYC

Hey folks, it's a long time since I visited SSC. I had a ton of studying since next year I'm gonna start on a uni, but all went well and now I have a free summer. I've updated my diagram with the latest progress. The building is currently 331 meters or 1 085 feet tall and has 70 apparent floors. Since my last update it has beaten Citigroup, Chrysler, Bank of America, 4WTC and 157. It is now a supertall and the third tallest building in the city

Roof height used below

Doubtful, IMO, since this is a private residence and won't have the role of tourist attraction a la Sears.

Context. The average person is essentially priced out of the chance to be too concerned with architectural matters beyond function and personal aesthetic. For that matter, so is the average builder, contractor, and sometimes the architect! Efficiency rules the day more often than not.

The 102nd floor of ESB is occupied and counts as a roof, so 432 Park is still no. 3 until it surpasses 1250 ft.

Nicely done Kanto. I myself have been back to SSC since this Monday. Seems like we both had lots of studying to do.

This is no accident...this aesthetic comes directly from Harry Macklowe in both cases. Harry conceived the Apple Flagship Store glass cube design during his remake of the GM Plaza and lower facade of the GM building when he was owner. His idea was inspired by I. M.Pei's glass pyramid at the Louvre. 432, the building, the surrounding Plaza and retail buildings were also designed according to his aesthetic. I think both are quite brilliant.

Upload a pic on imgur.com, then click on the BBCode line (this click will copy the link and code) and then just click Ctrl+V once you are back in the writing window of your post on SSC

Seems like there was another jump. Not sure if a complete jump, since again the core has reached the crane counterweight, and as happened the other time, maybe they won't do the whole jump until the crane is raised.

Indeed it has, but like you said only half way; I was expecting the crane to jump and for the core to finish off rising today, but the weather didn't look too good...
I can't believe how quickly it has risen since the last crane jump though!
