The building with the orange roof is the old Tiffany building, and it's nice.

The construction sequence at 432 Park Avenue has reached something of a "logjam". Normally, the core wall construction precedes the column, spandrel beam (perimeter), and floor slab pours. However, because the crane had not been jumped, there was a partial core rise last Tuesday (6/24). Columns were poured that day, spandrel beams poured the next day. Thursday saw floor slab poured (Actual Floor 64, apparent floor 69), and exterior forms raised. The crane hadn't been raised still, and the core was raised, but cannot be poured for the next rise, while Saturday (6/28) while I was there, a partial floor pour was taking place along with the spandrel beams. The floor was completed yesterday (Actual floor 65, apparent floor 70), with exterior forms raised, nearly hiding the core form.

I was told that Sunday, the beams for a crane jump were to be installed for a crane rise, which should take place today. It should have been done yesterday, which did not. Currently, the balance weight is on the hook, which presumably, the crane jump of 75 feet should occur today, which then will allow construction to resume a normal pace. The last three months were good ones, with 6 floors each cast for April, May and June.

Stunning photos, Weidncol. While slightly off-topic to 432 Park, is it me or did that white building in the center of the image have a fire? The fašade is highly discolored and browned.

Otherwise love that density and yeah 432 is shooting up there.

I think you are refering to 275 Madison. According to Landmarks Preservation Commission...

"Some brick on the lower portion of the south fašade of the upper tower is discolored, possibly by exhaust from the adjacent building to the south."

and now we return you to the coverage of 432...

The crane has been raised today. It is no longer visible on the earth cam. Will the cam be raised too as well?

I can't read their minds, but I'd start pulling the shot wider so you can see how much taller it is than everything else.

Sadly(?)we have the same phenomena in Miami,a bunch of luxury empty buildings, snooty sentinels of empty neighborhoods.I guess money talks!..

Thanks for that find. Quite a detailed and insightful read. Sorry to go OT but from those far away photos it appeared worse than just soot to me. Thanks for clarifying.

Cool. That brings the height of the building to 340 meters or 1 116 feet with 72 apparent floors

Roof height used below
